A planned visit £40 (lincs but about 20 mins from surgery), more in emergancy
For routine stuff I use a different vets that do free call out on a Monday before this I used a third vets that would do vacs in the box in the car park!!
The vets I used to use (about 10 miles away) was £43. I've just switched to a vets further away but they do zone days when call out is £30. Never had emergency call out with either so not sure how much more that is xx
£30 but if you have three or more horses there's no call out fee. Atm we have 2 so I keep telling OH it would save money to have another, not sure he's buying it though, can't imagine why!
I've got one vet that is £36 call out but have a zone day on a Tuesday I think that costs £17.50. Only used to use these for vacs.
Other vet varies depending on if they're in the area. Last time I used them it was £16 as they were fairly local. They are a fair distance away, but very good so don't mind the extra call out if they're not local!
Mine charges per mile rather than a call out, so depends on where I am. The further away I am from them, the more it costs. Have paid £20 when I was quite close to them, £50plus when I moved further away. now they are too far away for them to come to me, so if horse needs any investigative work, I would trailer up to them.
TBH, I have no idea I would imagine around £40-£50? After a lot of hassle I finally have found vets I am happy with, so whatever it is, I just don't care.
My farm vet charges around £20 and he is 17 miles away.
£11 which can be split between as many as required. I'm shocked a vets practice would limit the amount of people who can split a call out fee, that's disgusting.
NW Surrey: I use 2 vets - local one for only routine jabs (1) & the other (2) for everything else as they have full horspital. I sometimes do a 'drive in' to vets 2 for jabs tho.
Vet practice 1: £35.50 plus VAT callout = 4 miles & 5/10 mins (am in their area 1 = closest)
Vet practice 2: £52.00 plus VAT callout = 17 miles & 40mins (am in their area E = Furthest)
Out of hours add 20% to vets 1.
No extra charge from vets 2.
Either practice happy to split callout between 2 people (not ever had to ask for more than 2 tho)
North Yorks area - standard call out fee is £30. There are zone days where it's cheaper.
I'm lucky in that I can wheel Shy up to the vet in our trusty old Rice Trailer, and then there is no charge (just the cost of the diesel - £5 ?). Obviously not for emergencies though.
I pay £60 because it's a good hours drive but I'm very happy to do so; my vet is the best I've ever dealt with and I trust him 100%. I get my routine jabs and teeth done on his area milk round where you don't pay a call out at all which is a real bonus.
RVC in Herts £30.00 per call out normal hours, although they will split a call out charge. Out of hours nights, weekends end, bank hols etc I believe is £70.00.
£50 to come 400 yards (dont use them)or free as a group call when passing by a vet about 10 miles away his normal call out in working hours is £30
The expensive one has free zone days for routine stuff
£45 standard call out then lumps on another £10 examination fee (yes even for simple vaccs!). Charges full call out fee even when returning to the same problem within a 12hour period - most vets charge half call out. And it's £65 emergency call out. I'm glad I rarely need a vet!!!
My vet is £50 + and that was for a booked call out, but then they are agood hour away from me. I refuse to use a vets practice closer to me as they seem only to care about the money not welfare of the horse. Not only that but some of them seem to be pretty useless.
I have a great amount of respect for my vet so I am willing to pay the extra, plus he is in his 60's now so very knowledgable. Very good around nervous horses too. Im in West Devon by the way
