We are looking at moving one of our youngsters to another yard where she will be on assisted DIY Monday-Friday. The trouble is the owner of the yard has never offered it, and I have no idea on cost. Basically, Monday to Friday YO will turn out and bring in, skip out, feed and hang haynet. On Sat/Sun I will do the horse, I will fill haynets ready for the week and give her a good muck out. She will be on rubber matting, with a thin shavings covering. I will provide all hay/shavings/feed. There is auto waterers in the stables so no heavy buckets etc. Ideas on price please...

We would have to pay approx £75 for assisted mon - friday including skipping out, turn out/bring in but that is with bedding/feed included. £96 for 7 days. We have to pay £44 per week for DIY mon - fri with morning turnout and hay included. No bedding/feed/skipping out, bringing in

Ok, so for basic livery on a yard like that i would be looking at £15-20 a week. + £6 a day (£2 bring in/turnout w/o rug change, £4 for skip out) would = between £45-£50 a week?

My DIYers have the option of me doing this for them when they are on holiday/away/etc and I charge £8 per day for flax/easibed beds or £10 for straw beds (more labour intensive).

So they pay £35 per week DIY and then any extras on top. They pay for bedding/forage/feed.

So for what you want it would be livery + £40 (£8 per day).
