I have micronised linseed to feed to our EMS mini to replace fatty acids/omega 3 (he lives on virtually no grass), but I am just not sure how much he should be having? Of course we spend all our time trying to limit his calories.

The Laminitis Trust site says 50g - 100g per day and the bag says 100g - 200g per day as a guideline (for average horses). Said pony currently lives on weighed and well-soaked hay + two feeds a day of Top Chop Lite with Spillers Lite & Lean Balancer. We don't have a way to weigh him and weigh tapes never seem very accurate for minis, but he is pretty dinky (pictured).

I'm probably overthinking it and should just give him 50g and be done with it?

I’d go with a small 20g or 25g scoop. I’ve found micronised linseed very conditioning, so I’d start low and monitor. Sorry that’s not a definitive answer, but that’s what I’d do if it were mine.

I’m giving 1/3 cup twice a day to my 11.2hh Welsh, but I am actively trying to keep weight on him. When we get back to spring/summer, it will be 1/3 cup once a day between two feeds. 50g should be enough if he is dinky and a good weight.
