How much more weight would need to come off

Aww bless... A pretty girl... :)

The photo's not the greatest of angles but she does look erm, 'well covered'... :)

What's her current weight and size?

There is a table on this link that will give you an idea of how much she should weigh.

This is a link to a thread which looks at weight estimation and priovides the formulas to calculate weight- all you need to do is copy and paste to a spreadsheet cell. There is also a link to the research these formulas were based on with a diag. on how to measure your horse.

Hope that helps.

It is always difficult to say how much an individual horse should weigh IMO. They are like people some can weigh more and look ok, while others weigh a bit less and still look as though they could do to lose a bit.
Try to condition score her, to decide how much extra condition she is carrying. Remember that you should be able to feel the ribs easily without being able to see and count them.

she was a right hog beast when i bought her - i think shes a nice weight now tbf but ive never been very good at that

yep - muzzle in the summer and a bit mean spirited in the winter and little and often work as she was only three when i bought her - shes a big bad 4 now so giving her a bit more but not too much, slowly slowly catchy fatty

Lol I love this thread :D

OP your girl looks great in the comp(?) pic you showed, I wouldn't want much off her from that, if any.

Hi
I think she looks just about right in your most recent photo,
she was a bit chunky in the "before" photo though wasn't she.
Kx

Wow, you've done a brilliant job with her so far.

Get more off though - she's still looking rather well, and with spring round the corner you need to be careful (she looks like she does very well).

Work, work, work, and no hard feed.

She's very smart.

I think she looks good now! but she did look like a bit of a porker before!! You have done really well with getting it off her!:D

Thank you - she was a big fat pud, but she is the best thing that has ever happened to me - love her so much, but i think she just needs more muscle now but i dont want to work her too hard as a 4 yr old xx
