ok, so am getting my boy in 2 weeks on friday and am in the midst of spending all my money on stuff for him. however, I have come to a bit of a dead end with rugs...there are so many!! i need a bit of help getting my head round which ones I will need...he's a welsh section b and is used to being out 24/7 at the mo...he was rugged up over winter. i know i will need a heavyweight for this winter and am wondering what I should get around this period when the weather is quite unpredictable...do i get a lightweight or middleweight???
am also wondering whether he will need a heavyweight stable rug this winter as well...have got him a middleweight one already-would that be thick enough??

i'm quite confused...please help!!!

In theory as a section B he shouldnt need any rugs at all....however Im a realist!! I ould invest in a lightweight (no lining) turnout rug plus a middleweight with a detatchable hood. Dont bother with a heavyweight as in my experience if you buy one we will have the mildest winter on record and you will never need it!

Stable wise get yourself a summer sheet in cotton, a waffle or fleece (useful for bathtime or cooling off) and a middleweight stable rug. You can use the fleece under the middleweight if it gets really chilly.

If necessary perhaps an antifly rug.

If you are quick a lot of places are now having rug sales on - get yourself some bargins rather than waiting until winter
