7yr old Bay Gelding. 14.3hh. Possibly a Welsh D cross. Good to handle, farrier (no shoes), box, don't know about clipping... Lives in or out. Sweet little horse BUT has taken off several times with current rider. Once when she was mounting, twice in the school in approx 6 weeks. Has a worried vibe when ridden. Has been with an experienced rider/instructor for the last week to be assessed and she agrees that owners have taken on too much!! (Bought for 13 yr old daughter as a first horse), and they need to sell before they have an accident. Instructor says he'll make a great little horse but needs a quiet, confident/competent rider. She thinks its likely he's had a scare such as a slipped saddle and says he tenses up as soon as the riders weight shifts and was not helped by the fact the saddle they had fitted didn't fit!! He grows a few inches when you go to get on but doesn't move until told to (except that one time). He doesn't seem to know what a mounting block is but is learning. We think maybe his education was rushed and quite basic. Instructor and assistant have both said they would have him if they could and see huge potential in him with the right person and she is happy to speak to any potential buyers as she has put him through his paces with no preal problems..
So, any ideas on a realistic price?...
