How much should I pay

For an 8yo pony coming out of Polo?

He has passed 5* vets, just to much of a wimp for top level polo

PC all rounder
he is safe as houses and moves beautifully, woudl do pony club level polo, no scarring (but no mane) 15.3hh tb bay

just a wimp for top level polo...so no use to my friend

In which case I'd probably think around £3k depending on how much mileage he's done. If he's had a real rough time of it I'd be wary, personally. Also, if he's never done anything but polo he might be a bit interesting in the school and need lots of work.

It also depends on how good he is on the ground, out hacking alone, shoeing, etc. and whether he'll take your head off if other horses go cantering by or if he's sane in an open area. Stuff to think about.

I would say nearer 1-2K MAX TBH. Although it should be worth much more, polo ponies are brilliant, would make a perfect PC pony

Id say £2k max since it sounds like all he's done is polo so to make an allrounder you'll need to put some work in.
