Selling my horse so just thought i'd ask people how much they think i should ask for him he is

15,2hh 11 years old Welsh cob/Tb Bay

Done/placed (in top 10) intro/pre novice eventing.
Done hunting, novice dressage intermediate show jumping.
All pony club activities including camp and inter branch
Very good hack alone/group
Good to box clip vet etc.

Quite fine so would suit light weight adult/teenager

I was thinking about £4000 but not sure if would be a little much

what does everyone think?

Hmm from his results i'd say maybe 5k actually. Would he be a good confidence giver? A lot of people would be looking for something with experience like that. Only problem is Aberdeen is a long way for people from england to go. I know cuz my mum lives just north of aberdeen. A horse I was interested in up there struggled to be sold cuz nobody wanted to travel that far. But if you sell him locally then that would be a lot easier.

Yeh well he did my confidence heaps! Well i'm not sure if i should advertise him on horse and hound, as you say most people are from England and they wouldn't come all the way up to Aberdeen i'll probably just advertise him locally.

4k might be a quick sale if thats what you want or if your after more money then it might just take more time to find someone but i'd say you could get 5k. I've been looking for a horse for a while on all the websites and similar experienced horses are about that. And 11 isnt a bad age either.

Lots of people in Aberdeenshire want horses. Apparently that area of the country is the 2nd most populated with horses, first is newmarket. Theres a bit of general knowledge for ya. Plenty of local newspapers and magazines to advertise in.

Would agree that lots of people in Abdnshire want horses but there is a difference between those who want and those who want to pay the money. We're having a hellish job selling our 13.2hh pony, we don't want a huge amount of money and it comes with all its tack etc. I know someone who breeds dressage horses and doesn't sell any locally because of the prices - they all end up down south.
