Desperatly trying to find a new RS and all seem to be £40 + for an hour group on a school horse

Everything else is so cheap in Yorkshire too

So, is that about right(not paid for a lesson in years so have no idear) and could anyone recomend a RS in Sheffield?

£30 for a lesson on our own horses - used to pay £12 for group lessons and £20 for private half hour lessons. Group lessons were often just go round in a circle - not very satisfying for the girls.

£40 for a private or (looking at the new price list) £30 for a group lesson

Privates go up to £55 at peak times aka evenings and weekends and you don't want to know the non-member price

well put it this way a 45min shared lesson on borrowed horse with FBHS at Huntley costs only a few £ more than what you are looking to pay!!

A lesson with either of the Huttons at Talland is only a few pounds more than I would have to pay for a lesson with possibly an AI at weekends

£25 for an hour, one on one with a very good dressage trainer on her advanced medium mare. When Tilly is ready for lessons she will still only be £25 to come up to me for an hour

My other exceptionally good instructor, who is helping me start Tilly is only £20 (and she comes to me) and if she is only teaching for 30mins then it is only £10

Where I am it's £31 for an hours group lesson (group being 2 people max) or £40 for an hours private lesson. It's cheaper during the week but I can only go weekends at the moment.

I pay £45 for 1 hour private lesson with a BHSI and ex listed dressage judge and £30 for 1 hour private lesson with a BHSAI and BSJA accredited coach. Both on my own horse.

i pay £35 for an hours private lesson which benefits me a lot more than a group lesson.

when i get my boy (next week!! XD) i will have a 1/2 hour private lesson on him as well which is £10, or if i feel like we need it i can go £20 for full hour on him.

thought i was paying a bit for my private lessons but seems im not!!

I pay £20 for a 45 minute private lesson with yard instructors, £17 to take part in an hour's group lesson, and £35 for an hours lesson with an outside instructor.

£18 for an hour long group lesson at a riding school.
Not so bad, but things aren't so fabulous there at the moment so if they asked for more I'd go elsewhere.

In Leeds we've been paying £18 or £20 per hour for a group lesson (6 people max) at two different riding schools. It sounds like it could be worth a drive to Leeds at Sheffield prices!

OH rang three school for me and now cant remember who...bl00dy men ,lol!
I was expecting between £20 and £30, £40 seems like daylight robbery!

Come down south, £40 is pretty standard now

Oh forgot to say, mine are RS prices.

Also think cost can be on some levels linked to the yard itself with its facilities, horses and what levels of instruction you'll be getting.

Other yards in area charge between £15 and £35 for a private lesson as well

God I know, that was part of the reason I moved up north!

Dahn saarf I'd expect to pay in the region of £40. At my RS it's dependent on the instructor: chief, senior or normal. I get a discount with my own pony and pay about £44 for an hour private.
