Okie well insurance renewal coming up..Personally think Lacey is not really worth much at all for various reasons, nor Willow but my mum wants me to check lol!

Ok Willow first

Basics

- 15.1hh
- 12 this year
- TB x Connemara
- Flea-bitten grey

Pros

- Quiet ride - she's generally a bit of a point kick ride but has her moments (explainedi n the cons
wink.gif
)
- Snaffle mouthed at all times
- Well schooled, goes in a nice outline, established laterial movements, does shortened & lengthened strides, flying changes and a very good walk to canter. Also has a lovely rhythm.
- Very honest, if you keep kicking going into a fence and don't drop her, the chances are, she'll jump it. Even if that means from a standstill. Really helps you if you mess something up.
- Very good against the clock, not the fastest mover but can turn on a six pence
- Very good hunter, doesn't get silly and jumps well
- Good across country, sometimes likes to take a second look especially at ditches but as a general rule, good and confident.
- Perfect to hack out alone and in company
- Loads (sometimes stops but always in 2nd try), shoe, catch, travel, traffic
- Won & placed SJ(up to 3 foot 3), dressage(prelim), eventing, hunter trials(up to 2 foot 9) and showing
- Has qualified for chiltern & thames open & intermiediate 2005 & Cricklands 2006

Cons

- SHE'S LAME. Lol. Well a mechanical unlevelness due to an old injury, is in no pain and can do what we like, very minimal unlevelness which is only noticed when you look for it.
- Can be very spooky - gallop to halt in approx 0.5 seconds, or can spin round without warning
- Can buck when she gets excited but not big
- Hates being clipped so needs sedating
- Headshakes but fine with a net
- Grumpy sometimes, like going up her girth, doing up the front of her rug & brushing her tummy

Erm thats all I can think of really!

Here are some pics

Personally think that because of her unlevelness it means she won't be worth anything over £1000 really but just checking...

Lacey

Basics

- 14.3 1/2 hh
- Rabicano roan (pics don't show it well but very obvious in person)
- Believed welsh, possibly x Hackney
- 7 this year

Pros

- Good conformation
- Never lame, sick or sorry
- Broken to drive
- Stunning
- Has enough presence for 2 17.2hhs
- Beautiful movement
- Very good temperment, no malice in her what so ever
- Good to catch (unless she's been on boxrest), perfect to load both in lorries or trailers, good to shoe, can be a bit impatient and treis to sit on the farrier if she gets hot shod but not really a problem, perfect in traffic and good to be clipped. (used to be sedated but we've been working on it and she was fine the last clip without any doping)
- Has won & placed SJ, XC, showing, le trec & dressage
- ENORMOUS jump on her - cleared 4 foot with me on board, 3 foot 6 courses and loose jumped herself (not intentionally) out of our 5 foot+ lunging pen fence.
- very careful, can't remember her last fence down
- Will jump off any stride, any angle, any fillers ect, nothing phases her
- Very quick against the clock, can do super turns and covers ground very fast too. Has never EVER been out of the top 3 (only 4 times in her life has she not won a double clear too) in a double clear, except at cricklands nationals when she came 4th out of a very big class.
- Very VERY good flatwork when she co-operates, instructor (who's daughter has competed in the national team) says she works at 8s in an affiliated class when she goes nicely - and she doesn't give compliments unless you deserve them.
- Nothing phases her, have tried stuff like barrel racing, polo (with a broom and a foot ball lol!)
- Hacks out alone & in company
- Qualified Cricklands nationals 2 foot 6 and came 3rd and 4th in two of the warm ups.
- Won the trailblazer 2 foot 6 regional but didn't do too well at the champs (turned out we weren't feeding her enough energy food for the work we were asking, but getting there alone is amazing)
- Came 5th at Malthouse champs (would have won but had a fence down as she stumbled so fastest 4 faulter)
- Huge personality, never fails to make me laugh
- Very trainable, learnt to Bow down on 1 knee in about a week.
- Very intelligent
- Works well with intelligent horsemanship techniques

At the moment you're probably thinking awwwh the perfect pony :P

Cons

- She needs a very specific rider to get any decent work out of her. I'm not amazing by any means but we click so she works for me.
- Has an opinion on EVERYTHING, and if she doesn't like something, its almost impossible to get her to do it.
- Can be bargey when food is concerned but not too bad
- Very strong, at the moment still in a snaffle but we're trying to find a bit that she likes and we have control in. Worse in company.
- She rears, bucks and takes off. Wouldn't say she's ever bolted BUT I have felt very out of control once or twice. Her bucks are usually very small but the occasional one is quite big. She rears either to evade something or when she's excited and has to stand still. These rears are usually half - 3/4 way up, but she has gone vertical 4 times. 3 out of 4 it was because she had to stand still when over-excited (PC camp, sponsored ride & gymkarna) and once was evasion when napping. At the sponsored ride she fell over backwards and this hasn't deterred her.

Uuuhm I think thats about it for bad points.

Ok I got carried away LOL.

So yeah..personally don't think either of them are worth anything to anyone other than me due to their faults but figured best get outside opinion. Please bear in mind I live in Berkshire, 1 of the most expensive areas in the UK.

Thanks

I made my mum drive about an hour and a half just so we could jump that. Then right at the start Lace reared up and flipped over backwards which was not a good start, but then despite it being her 2nd time xc and the first time we only jumped a couple of logs and tyres, jumped everything with only 2 stops and all the big ones from about half way round. Best ride EVER!

Your bay sounds like my mare down to a T, she looks a bit like her too although mine doesn't have as much bone.
Im planning to take mine to Frensham Sponsered ride in April it will be the first one she has ever done im just planning to trot and canter as much as I can as thats the only way I can stop her going up when she is excited

!!!
I paid 1500 for my mare with a full wardrobe 3 years ago so I would probally say the same for your mare as she is a bit younger then mine. Not sure on the grey though!
