After the wonderful evening last night with D and losing yet another shoe and tearing his foot to pieces i was discussing with dad what to do. I'm not looking to get rid of him, he's here to stay, but yet again things are going backwards. He was bought as a small competition horse, nothing major but everytime we get some where we have a set back. Besides having feet that keep breaking down he has confidence issues. One day he can be fantastic then next a nervous wreck, which then sets him back as it can take weeks to build his confidence if somethings rattled him, so my comps arnt happening and its going to take a lot longer to get to them than expected, so have decided to look for another horse, and would like your advice on whether i can find what i want and at the right price (as have got to save). Here goes...

Gelding
15.3 - 16.1
7 - 10 years old
Would prefere a white grey with white mane and tail (have always dreamed of owning one again since my little section a) but at the end of the day as long as he does the job i spose i cant be choosy on colour.
Must be able to hack alone as well as in company
Jump up to about 3' i'm to scared to go any higher

and do xc (doesnt have to have been to any comps/doesnt need comp record just as long as i know he'll go round one)
dressage prelim/novice
Must be good to do in all ways as if i'm away for work dad looks after them and he's not well so cant manage anything bolshy/tempremental
Load in trailer/box
MUST HAVE GOOD FEET!

I'm not after anything fancy or highly bred, nothing too stocky (i like tb but know they have problem feet) will condsider most breed or cross. Cant have any confidence issues. I have enough of my own and want something that i can point and kick and go. Looking to do low level riding club stuff occasionally, not going to be a regular thing so nothing that thrives off going to comps.
Ideally it would also come with tack, rugs etc.

Obviously i'm looking for as cheap as possible (not looking yet as dont have the money) but want to know if its possible to get what i want and at the right price.

To recap, nothing special, just a nice horse that i can enjoy and will do as asked with out having an issue, can take him out every now and then when i fancy it and wont cost the earth to buy.

Beverage and nibbles of your choice for getting this far.

I think if you wait patiently and are in the right place at the right time you can pick something up for around £1500 to £2k. Good luck.

I'm sorry but I very much doubt that.
At that age, safe and sensible, good hacking, able to go round xc nicely and do novice dressage I would say at least £4000.
