Im off to look at another horse tomorrow night (not going to get my hopes up too much this time tho).

4yo 16'3 Dark Brown mare by Dream of Glory (Donnerhal x Pik Bube) the mare shes out of has good breeding too. Branded oldenburg.

Shes been professionaly broken and is ready to start going out and competing.

How much would you guys pay for her? I obviously know whats being asked and will obviously (if i like her) make an offer. Just wondered what everyone thinks is reasonable.

If she was everything I wanted, had good conformation and temperament and I was happy about how much work she had/had not done. I would be happy to pay £8k possibly a bit more.

I've always said that if I were to delibrately look for a 4 year old to bring on I would want £10k in my pocket. Obviously I hope to find a bargain and spend only around £5k if I could!!

ive been told her temprement and attitude are brilliant and also that shes a lovely straight mover with fab conformation. obviously i will see her standing on level ground and trotted up etc to assess all that for myself. And you hit the nail on the head btw!!

like you i am ever hopeful of that bargain coming round the corner!! not sure it will tho with my luck!!

not missed anything, i havent posted about it!! it was really nice but not for me. Seriously hot horse to ride - i had to ride it with my legs held away from the saddle, and it had a bit of a phobia of people holding the reins too short......also slightly tense though its back, its been given back to its owner for a break and kay might have it back when she gets back from her holiday but i dont reckon she will to be honest. its super sensitive.......

It's a shame about Jeffrey but it's good to hear that you are going to see another. She sounds lovely too. I would say around 5,000-6,000 depending really on just how much potential she has. Let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed for you x

Looking at the press - stupid amounts of money with those lines - prices are mad in the mas at the mo.

Just be aware though as you said the grey was sharp Pik Bube horses often are too - couple of friends have them and htey are seriously sharp - every trainer they have spoken to has said "to be expected!" Gorgeous looking horses though - all of them

hmmmmm your trainer won't even have it back yet last week she said it was perfect for you and that you should buy it?? i assume she is on commission? No wonder you don't think too highly of dealers - you really should find a GOOD one.

BTW this has painted a not to good picture of her - telling a client to buy a horse that she won't even bring on - so she probably wouldn't be too pleased that you have announced her name and her companies name on here!

you have no right to judge my trainer - this horse has had a rider on it thats damaged its back. my trainer is too full to take it back on when she comes back from holiday hence the reason she wont be getting it back.

get your facts straight before typing stupid remarks.

she is very well known and all her horses are of a very high standard.

oh, and my trainer is really 'good' otherwise she wouldnt have such a good client base - dont go judging and commenting on things you know nothing about.

There is actually much more to the story than P_G has posted. Actually something completely out of her and her trainer's control has caused some problems for the horse so I wouldn't be so hasty to have a go at her when you don't know the full story.

well she's tried to sell you a horse that you can't take a contact with and has a damaged back and told you (if i remember rightly from the last post about it) it would go all the way - these sorts of problems already as a novice 5 year old is NOT good.

By the way i already know of your trainer just from knowing people and what you say about her really just confirms what i already thought and btw the horses she deals with are not that great and certainly not top class but then neither are the ones she keeps so the ones she sells certainly won't be.

thank you hun

thats why i didnt post much in the first place as its nothing really to do with anyone else, but asusal people are quick to accuse in this place.........

PS - my account is b*ggered so ive got to be a 'newbie' for a while

or forever.................

it's irrelavent who caused these problems, the fact is the horse has problems and therefore she shouldn't try to sell it on to naive people as a horse that will go all the way. end of

you are seriously getting on my nerves. how dare you say that when you dont even know her properly?

this horse couldnt have a contact taken up because someone had ridden it when my trainer was away, hauled it around and pulled its back - hence it was so nerous with a new rider and was stiff from behind. Hes a gorgeous but very sensitive horse and this person who rode him damaged him badly. get your facts right and if you havent got anything productive to say then back off.

That's ok, it's just a shame sometimes when perfectly innocent posts take an aggressive turn. I think your trainer seems to have some reall gems on her website and I would definately be interested in getting in contact when I am looking for a horse next year.

Wow seriously...just back off now. We're all entitled to our own opinions but it really doesn't need to get aggressive. You've made your point. I've heard the full story and it's a perfectly legitimate one.

happy now??

as it happens i sold the saddle ages ago but forgot that it was even advertised in my sig

Dont usually get involved and i dont know all the in's and out's but maybe PG's trainer thought that seen as PG hasn't got millions to spend and knowing her riding abilities that PG might be able to work with this horse and bring the best out in it??

I'm sure she wouldn't sell her a horse with serious issues seen as she trains her, it just wouldn't be good business sense.

As i say though i know none of the in's and out's just though i would put another view across.

Good god!!

Going back to the original question (
tongue.gif
), Then I'd say about £8-11K. Maybe more..... To be at the upper end though, she'd need to be from a VERY good dam line, and not just the names in the tail part of the pedigree, but also the whole of the female family! She would have considerable residual value as a broodmare........

thank you for reverting back to the 'original question' hun!!! They want £8.5k for her, but im unsure of her damn lines. Am going to try her out tomorrow - theyve got her passport with her full pedigree on it. Im not convinced shes what im looking for but theres no harm in looking
