How much to ask for horse share

I am looking to share my horse to help towards her livery costs and was wondering what a reasonable price to ask would be or what people would be willing to pay.

It would be to ride my schoolmistress 3/4 times per week facilities include indoor school, off road riding and instructor on site. She is on full livery so absolutely no work involved just turn up and ride.

in surrey you would be looking at £180-£200 per month although this is always commeted on as very high by people in other parts of the country!
 
I was only charged the price of my shares shoes but you could charge the going rate for an hours private lesson at an RS (last I checked here it was about £30) per week... £120 a month plus half the cost of the shoes??
 
I'm currently paying £70 to ride as many times during the week I like on a less than perfect, but fun horse with outdoor school and off road hacking straight from the yard, no yard duties needed although I like to do them sometimes. I've also gone to a show and XC schooling with his owner and not had to pay much more, only the price of my classes.

For my previous share I was paying £100 a month to do him fully twice a week, at the same yard so same facilities, including morning and evening duties, no shows or anything but a couple lessons with his owners husband a month. He was more of a proper all rounder though.

I'm in Hampshire so wouldn't think prices would be low here, but I think these are pretty reasonable deals, my current one I'd say is a bargain but I am kind of helping to school him on as he's green.

I'd say for what you're offering about £120 a month would be reasonable. Of course it depends how much your livery and shoes are though.
 
I'm in Cheshire. I have my share pony half the time (3 days one week, 4 the next) and pay half his costs which comes out at £150/month. He's on DIY so I do all jobs on my days. He's a fabulous hack and a good fun pony but has had back issues so has to stick to a strict exercise program to maintain him in tip top shape. He has more frequent than a 'normal' horse physio check-ups which does put his costs up a bit. I can pretty much do what I want with him, within the bounds of his exercise program, - hacking, lessons, fun rides, taking him out and about in the trailer....

I'd pay £200 a month for a schoolmistress and no jobs assuming she's also an excellent, fun hack :)
 
I used to pay £120 a month and do jobs on my days

a lady on our yard is charging £20 a week but we only pay £16 a week livery so that pays her rent + a bale of hay. I guess it is all proportional.

If someone was going for 3 private lessons a week at a school it would cost around £75
 
my sharer is paying £100 a month for 2/3 days a week and helping out with chores (nothing through the summer but bring in and put to bed on her days through the winter). In return he is basically a schoolmaster that both her kids can ride, and has the option to take him to shows/pc/have lessons on their days and the yard has great facilities. I would normally ask more like £150 for 3 days a week as in this area livery is expensive. However I have just moved to a new yard which is much cheaper!!
