How much to ask for my trailer

As title really - I'm selling my trailer as going to be sharing a box with a friend, but don't really know what its worth.

Its an Ifor Williams 505 - I bought it 2nd hand so not sure exactly how old, but probably about 15 years plus. It has an aluminium floor with rubber matting (put in about 6 years ago, just before I bought it) and I had the brakes done at its last service last year. It is in need of a bit of TLC but mainly cosmetic. The only thing that needs looking at sooner, rather than later is the back ramp which is starting to crack on the bottom right. The electrics are all fine as are the tyres.

Any idea how much I should ask for it please?

I must admit I was thinking (hoping) for something along the lines Kate suggested. I'd be really disappointed if it was only worth £400. It is a good solid trailer, just need a bit of tlc.
 
They hold their value well so I would say about £1000. Have you searched online for similar ones for sale? Usually plenty on ebay - see what they are fetching.
 
You'd prob get £1000 to £1200 on ebay. Is it one of the pre-92 ones (short jockey door and full height front ramp) or post 92 (full height jockey door and top door over front ramp)?

The month and year or manufacture will be stamped into the wheel rims, e.g. 06-94.
 
Sorry I thought I'd be well off, it's only because friend of mine just bought simular trailer for £500 but she did say it was a real bargain

sounds like you should get similar to what we got for our old one.

We had a richardson equivalent sold to a lady who like it cos it allowed room for a longer body. Wooden floor with alu plate screwed on top. needed a few bits of work doing on it. The lights needed a fiddle, ply covering below the floor needed sorting out but had new padded interior and refurbed partitions. Sold it honest to the lady whose hubby could see all the work doing for £800. Think it was about a 1992 off the top of my head.

Its got the top door over the front ramp so I guess that makes it post '92. I'll check when I get to the yard tonight then I can have a look on e-bay at prices.

Then all I have to do is get my act together to give it a tidy up and advertise it!
