a lady at my yard who doesnt have much experience with horses has asked me to re-school her pony. he is 5 yrs old and has not been ridden for quite a while and when he was he had only been broken in,he seems nice natured but would need alot of groundwork and lunging etc to get him going again, might possibly need re-backing. how much money would you ask for to do this(i would be bringing it in every day to be handled and lunge it 3 times a week and when ridable be riding 3-4 times a week. any ideas??

Id ask for the initial breaking, £150 per week, as there is a higher risk of you hurting yourself during this time. Do you have anybody else helping to out, giving leg ups, holding pony etc?
Is the owner working alongside with you helping out to breaking process?
After hes settled in his work if it was me id drop the price down abit to maybe £100 a week, but thats just me.

Or you could ask the owner what shes willing to pay to have the pony broken/schooled, perhaps you could work out a price from that.

Good luck, and keep us posted x
