I am planning on taking on a livery at my yard, I usually only take on schooling/competition liveries and tend not to have people around doing their own horses. But someone I know is really keen to have her horse at mine, mainly so she can have lots of lessons etc...

So I suggested she had her here on part livery. I would feed and turnout as normal in the morning as like my routine, and then she can come and muck out and ride when she wants.

She would have use of a newly put in arena with jumps, big brick stable with rubber matting, late night checks plus me living on site. Daily turnout, good hacking.

What should I charge her? I have never had anyone on this kind of livery as such so really not sure what is appropriate

Thanks

My friend used to look after my horse a few days a week on part livery as i was working part time. I usually did him 5 days a week and she charged me £200 a month. Did have access to outdoor school with jumps etc and she lived on site and hayed round each night

If she's going to muck out every day then it's only assited livery, I would'nt want to pay anymore than £30 a week, I only pay £100 a month for the same service with a school and lovely hacking,

If you are providing bedding, feed and hay then about £70 per week as part livery(ie without riding and grooming)is about £120 and the only extra she is doing is mucking out.

I would call that assisted DIY which costs about £35 a week round here (kent) - not including hay and straw.

if bedding included and hay about £50 - 60 depending on size (amount it eats) if just stable with turnout feed and checks £45. my old yard charges £1 t/o bring in, £1 each set of rug changes and £1 a day to feed & net AM + PM so thats $ a day £21 a week

I'm in Dorset and pay £100/mth which includes stable, year round turnout and use of the school. They also feed and turnout in the morning but I am expected to do everything else and to do one day/week poo picking. It does not include hay, straw, feed etc. Hope this helps?

I'm in Somerset and pay £32 a week for assisted DIY that is exactly the same service and facilities that you describe. £22 a week for the basic livery, including things like use of school, putting in an evening haynet etc, plus £2 a day during the week for doing the morning feed and turnout.

The yard i work on charges £39.50 per week for part livery, this includes 24lbs of hay per day and 1 bale of bedding per week. You can buy more however that is extra. The part livery includes a morning feed, turnout or rug change
