I have just bought 3 acres of land, the stables are going up in the next couple of weeks, my friend wants to move her cob down when I move mine from the livery yard.

It will be grazing and stabling and hay, as it is a work in progress we have no water on but I live next to the field so bringing water will be no problem more hassle than anything, but there is a natural source of water in the field. The big hay bales cost me £10 per bale so happy to do those at cost.

The fencing is post and rail with individual paddocks for summer and winter.

So what would you charge a friend per week / or monthly?

Stables and grazing with no school I'd say £15 per week possibly? Depending on where you are.

How about a set amount for hay per month? We paid £30 per month per horse for ad lib hay or haylage for the winter months.

My friend has stabling, grazing a schooling paddock and she charges her liveries £10 per week. I would let them buy hay per bale, to stop anyone taking the p*ss

maybe you could up the charge when u have finished the project & have water etc... be careful tho, business and frienship should never mix!

Where abouts in the country are you......prices vary considerbly depending where you are offering the livery. You could do with making a few enquiries around your area & then set your prices. If you don't you could either pricing yourself out of the market or on the other hand not really covering your costs.
