My yard owner has said he will hang hay nets and put in feed buckets when we go away for the weekend. This is something he doesn't usually do so is 'extra' to my weekly costs. He hasn't said how much he will charge so I wondered if anyone could suggest a reasonable payment? Do people pay by so much per net or by one round figure? It involves 3 horses to be fed Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning. Thanks for any suggestions.

We get someone to visit our horses (kept on own land) when we go away, there are five of them and normally we time our group trips out of winter so all they need is some food throwing at them (literally, for a few days they just get bailey's nuggets on the floor) and making sure they all have 4 legs each. I think we pay £20 a day for two visits, so that includes her driving there too etc.

I have always paid £1 per net and £1 per bucket when on diy and needing yard staff to assist on an ad hoc basis

I used to charge one livery £7/day for feeding and haying in the field, and checking etc. But that was really to discourage her from leaving me to it when she really was on DIY, I didn't want to have to do her horse.
