I find that Harvey drinks considerably more than Jasper ever used to. Is this normal?
I fill his water bowl up every evening and there's usually less than 1/4 of a pint of water left. It holds 1.5 pints of water. Now, I can't discount the possibility that the cats dip into it daily, but they do have their own water bowl which I still fill as regularly as I did before. They tend not to go in Harvey's crate (where his bowl is)
I was wondering if this contributes to the runny poop issue we get some evenings between 6 - 10pm?
It seems an excessive amount of water. Do some dry feeds make them more thirsty than others? Would it help to dampen the food down, although I don't like to discourage the chewing and crunching to help tooth/gum health?
