This is one of those lively Irish cobby ponies, not some heavyweight plod.
He is about 14.2/15.00, pretty short coupled, with a good long stride and loves jumping. He is very hairy and definitely a cob.

I really quite fancy taking him hunting, for some short days and I wouldn;t be jumping anything very high.

Any idea what weight he might be up to? I'm think I;m around 11stone and 5' 6" tall. My feet are not below his stomach, so I don't LOOK too big.

You would be absolutely fine.
I know a lady that regularly takes her daughters 14hh pony hunting who is finely build and I would say she was about 11 stone.

Should be fine as long as fit and balanced. We have highland on our yard that takes male rider of similiar weight and much taller and shes ok.

Goody. I hoped that might be the verdict. He is a cracking pony and he jumps really well.

Unlike my horse, who is the clumsiest thing ever and doesn't believe me if I point him towards a jump, unless it is a log. He gets confused if he sees poles. He does do dressage though.

The cob in my siggie was only 14 1 and jumped 3 3 with ease. We took her to local shows and she used to beat 16 h plus horses always did clear ound and was very fast. They normally have good powerful hind quarters.Have fun

I ride a 14.2 heavy cobby girl and I am much heavier than 11 stone. She's fine with me and we've never had a promblem although I am short so height isnt much of a thing for me. I think even a 14.2 light cob could probably take about 12 and a half stone. They're bred for weight so I should think it'll be fine.
