how much work does my mare need to be fit for hunter trails

i have a 6 yr old mare who at the moment due to weather is only ridden 4 x a week this consists of hacking 1 to 1.5 hour walk trot canter schooling and lunging.lives out 24/7 at moment how much more should she do and what ?only doing 2ft3/6 unaff this season to start her off

I think she would be fine on what you are doing.

I think she'll be fine. When you're actually doing the hunter trial you'll be able to tell how fit she feels and you can ride her accordingly. I sometimes fly round and other times I'll just take my time depending on how my horse feels.

thank you i some times feel so guility because i dont ride 6 days a week,but due to work,family and at the moment the weather its not possible.if i canter her out hacking she feels fine and as though she could go on for ever
