I'm looking at some different working livery options for my 16 year old new forest. He can get a bit too silly if not worked much, and so we need it mostly for winter. In winter i can't ride after school so only riding for 2/3 hours a week but in summer, and in school holidays, i'm riding 5/6 hours a week.
The yard only offer working livery or stables, which is too much. Howeverm they have said they want to use him for 10 hours a week. I think this is far too much but my parents and the yard seem to think that, with my work as well, 16 hours a week is fine... for a pony who can lack motivation in the school.
Is it too much? I think even 10 hours is pushing it a bit! Opinions please.
(Please note i don't really want a fight about pros and cons of working livery)
Thanks
