My new horse is 6 he’s green on the flat but hunted and been cross country schooled and showjumped , he lacks confidence in a hack ie leaving yard field area ect and can get nappy but we are working on this , also he’s been nappy yesterday at the gate in the school settled and workd fine , next month he will be starting to get out for winter jumping and start treadmill work , I have been getting used to him the last 2 weeks and been in the school amd think he’s just switched off , i forget he’s only 6 and so used to my other main man who lives for his work ?‍♀️?‍♀️ Happy Monday but we did trotting poles no napping and finished obs. Good note x x

I don't think people appreciate how little it takes for young horses to be mentally tired before they are physically tired. Your horse has also moved yards/herds/owners so has a lot going on in his life.

I still take things very steady with my 7 yr old as he can become over awed by situations rather than physical work
