OH has a job out there and whilst I'm keen to stay ATM then it is a possibility to go out there in the future and take dear old Ernie.
Has anyone got any ideas of a rough figure that they, or anyone they know has paid? Would be happy to be part of a small shared load.

It cost me 500 to bring Whisk over from Germany. He was on with one other horse but it was the most amazing box. Cameras on the horses and air suspension. It was like a mobile stable and he arrived sweat free after a trip of nearly 12 hours. Well worth the money imo.

It cost me £800 to transport from Southern Spain to mid UK in Jan 2007, so there is a good figure for you to work from - HOWEVER, fuel has gone up since then

I use Kevin Scott at ECS Transport and cannot fault him - not the cheapest, but I would trust him to move my horses any day of the week.

Four years ago it cost 2000 pounds to transport my cob from north Norfolk to SW Germany. He was the only horse on a 9-horse transporter; the rest of the lorry was taken up by our furniture, etc!

Fantastic lorry, though. Cameras, air suspension, music, and lots of stops en route.

As if! It cost me £400 to get a horse from Just over the scottish border to warwickshire! Though I know the diesel prices dont help these days.

Cost Piaffe around £500 to bring Viento over from the most southern tip of Spain. Was your load shared? Prob not, and that would be why it cost so much - moving horses in this country costs far more than moving them from the continent - fuel is cheaper over there for a start too!
