Thinking very much with the future in mind when ive left school and working full time, so i can put money together with mum :) :p

How much would this type of property cost to rent per month in the south west area?

- 3 bed house
- 2 stables
- 3 acres
- school, or at least use of one onsite
- nice area, with half descent hacking

I don't know about your area but here that would cost well upwards of two grand a month I would think. And that would be using someone else's school. In honesty you can't rent that sort of thing here easily you'd have to buy.

Maybe you should look at other areas. Not quite what you are looking for but a few months ago a 3-bed farmhouse in Lincs with stables and six acres was being offered at a rental of £400 per month!

Well clearly I should. Where abouts in Lincs? I'm in Cambridge could I commute? That is shockingly low!

There's a 4 bed farm house in East Northants with more acreage and stables, riding arena, (maybe consider doing livery - I used to keep a horse there) for rent at £518 per WEEK. Lovely property which wouldn't come on the market very often.

Tbh, i think im going to have to stuff that idea unless i find a job where im earning millions  No way we could afford £2k+ a month!!!! Will keep my eyes open never the less :) Was just interested to see if it may have been a maybe option, maybe not :p

Bloody hell! we rent a 2 bed flat in a really rough area for £450 per month - need to move....

i have a friend in essex who used to rent about 2 years ago before she bought her own house and she was paying £1800 per month for 3 bed (small) cottage style house 2 acres of land and 3 stables no manage or anything so it would be alot. if you are planning on saving to rent why not get a good job save some money and put it toward buying a house, very expensive i know but if it doesnt work out you can sell up where as if you rent and things go wrong you have lost alot of money and gained nothing :( (bad). so maybe that may be worth thinking of for a long term future goal. other than that would maybe suggest buying some land and renting house very close to it? x

We were thinking about selling our house but now may rent it instead.

4 bed, 3 bath, 2 recep.
Parking for 10 vehicles.
2-4 stables available
Couple of paddocks
Martin Collins Clopf school
Horsewalker
Not the best of hacking though
Swindon area.

Let me know if you want more details.

ttt, i would be in heaven, but i was thinking very much in advance, there is no way we could afford something that lovely now unfortunatley, and tbh i doubt we ever will. :( :( thank you though, and i am very very jealous! why on earht are you moving?! :p

lincs is MILES away from you. maybe a move permanently up here :) you could buy a 3 bed house up here with a few acres for £300,000 or rent a nice one for about £700 pm maybe a little more

O well. I have to stay commutable to London so no such luck :( I am stuck paying £900 for a 2 bed terrace with no garden at all and will be for some considerable time I expect. And it is blooming freezing as it is draughty. Is cute though on the plus side :D

wow! i would rent too if i had that! :) that sound nice why would you ever want to think about selling?! x

We had to build our house in order to get somewhere with land in Dorset that was affordable!

Took 2 years to find a building plot with 2 acres and 9 months hard slog to get it built, but well worth it to have somewhere we could never afford otherwise. I should start looking now if I were you!!!

We are moving to the house next door and we think the mortgage man has found a way for us to rent this one instead of selling it. The school, walker and stables are between the houses so could easily be shared when we move. We could soon build some more stables if some-one wanted the yard as well. Otherwise, we will just rent the house to a 'normal' family :)

Jesstickle close to my village there will be a house with one acre, four stables, three beds, two reception rooms, two bathrooms, utility and study coming up for grabs shortly. In the village there is a station but there is limited service or it's a short drive to Ely station.

It will be £900 per month BUT the drains and roof need sorting and the landlord has been a bit reluctant.

That sounds great. Unfortunately as it is OH that has to get to London we can't move right now. If it was me on the train I'd move and do the extra but as I've already dragged him up here from London because of the horses I can't ask much more of the poor old boy.

Hopefully he'll find a job up here eventually and we'll be free as a bird. He is trying pretty hard but the building industry is pretty depressed at the moment, even inside the magical Cambridge bubble. That sounds so great other wise. It's thoroughly depressing realising what we could have for our money if we weren't tied to where we are. We're originally Norfolk folk and back home £900 gets you a grade II listed five bed house with two acres. ( I know because it's owners live over the road from the mothership and she thoughtfully phoned me up to tell me. Thanks Mumbles :( )

Doesn't matter about falling down roofs. OH is a structural engineer. That sort of thing is his job :D
Is it yours?
