Yep, it's synthetic and it fits - just now!! Am fully prepared to go through a few whilst she changes shape so don't want to spend a fortune but still want something decent. Truly found a bargain though with the one I bought
I use wintec synthetic for backing horses. They change shape so much in the first year, that I found a wintec adjustable saddle the best option. You can pick them up off ebay for around £150, sometimes cheaper if you keep an eye out.

I would pay whatever I needed to for a saddle that fitted. I would then trade that saddle in when it needed changing.

Totally agree.

Having been there with a youngster and buying what fitted and then having to trade it in 3 times in two years I wouldn't again buy a leather saddle for a youngster.
I have another youngster now and have bought a wintec VSD which is perfect for her. I haven't got an open bank balance to keep throwing money after saddles that are usless after 4 months.
I agree - which is why I bought a cheaper saddle to start her in, once she outgrows this one am going to buy a changeable gullet wintec * I think * will see how she goes.....
I brought an old english leather saddle for £20 just to long rein and lunge him with and then I brought a leather saddle for £100 that lasted about 6 months, the he had a Stubben £200, then a Jefferies £190 and now he has got a throwogood synthetic till he stops growing, which I paid £60 2nd hand.
Im hoping he will stop soon cos I want a nice decent saddle!
My breaking in saddle cost me £15 at a table top sale. It didn't fit them all perfectly but as it was to get them used to something on their back and having something done up round their belly it didn't really matter. Seeing as I had one horse throw themselves down and roll on it I'm glad it was a cheapie!!
No harm to missy but £745 worth of saddle will not be happening lol .
For a first saddle that they can get used to , it wont be much due to possible rolling or damaging it , Once shes used to a saddle .... Then I will of course upgrade and get one fitted for her . I bought a bates caprilli with my last mare and loved it , So may well go for this again .
