How much would you expect to pay for a....?

Unbroken 5/6 year old Sec C gelding?

I have been offered one, but I think he;s over priced at £750 ?


I've been looking for a companion and I'm being quite selective. (Well not really but still :D )
Here's my criteria;

- Older than 4.
- Over than 13hh. Under 15hh.
- Really not bothered on breed/colour/sex etc.
- Doesnt have to be handled/broken etc.

Preferably Im looking for a Sec C but I can't find a nice one, due to my budget being low :'(

So...any help finding companions? Would maybe have a nice Sec A/B etc, but no shetlands, my horse is scared of them :eek: :rolleyes: :D

I would loan from a charity, but I would prefer to find a pony/horse that if need be I could sell on. I plan on handling the horse on a daily basis and if its appropriate backing them, so loaning isnt an option.

Other option is I go to an auction :)
 
I found a companion I wanted - not passported or microchipped and still entire - they gelded/passported/microchipped and delivered him to me all for £100. He was handled, but nervous. Other than that is a star. Now 3 years old and ready to be backed. Perfect companion - I can take my other horse away and he won't bat an eyelid, even if it is overnight. He is a mini cob, 12.2 and nicely marked. Happy on his own and lives on fresh air - perfect companion.

Look on dragon driving for similar, but I got mine through a friend
 
Sorry, I said unbroken when I meant unhandled. This horse has never had a headcollar on, so truthfully I do think he is overpriced, maybe that's just me.

I wouldn't expect to pay more than £500 for an unbroken Section C unless it was exceptional.

But then they are 10 a penny round here. (Well, almost!!)
 
I think its totally overpriced, for an unhandled sec c (presuming it is fully reg with papers etc) I wouldnt pay a penny more than £400 and she wouldnt get that if it went into a sale. offer her less and be prepared to walk awy. I should think she will snap your hand off.....winter is coming and hay is expensive!
