Hi - Im looking to buy a horse,

I'm looking for a 16 - 17 hh, 8 - 10 years old, nice type, to hack out on, and compete dressage, as well as do a few fun rides, and jumps. i have a budget, but i cant seem to find any horses in my price range,

how much would you be looking to spend if you were looking for a similar horse?

thanks :) x

I'm bad at these things (like I really have no clue but just guess from cruising horsemart). I think you could maybe find a horse like that for £3000? Considering we are coming into winter and it's supposedly a buyers' market. It depends on what level dressage and jumping though.

*waits for someone to correct her*

I am looking for that kind of horse too and I can't find anything under about £4000/£4500ish.

Depends on if you don't mind a few quirks, willing to go for an older type, if you are willing to take on a TB as they seem cheaper than IDx, TBx types at the moment.

I guess also your age range is pretty limited so perhaps you could broaden that a bit? There are 17/18 yr olds going around Badminton still so maybe you could consider some a little older?

Maybe look at those around £4000/4500 and consider putting some reasonable offers in.

I dont really want to risk it on the quirks front, this will be my first horse, and really dont want to lose my confidence, same with the TB thing, i know they're clever horses, and though i've ridden TB's I've never handled one

good luck in your horsey search! :) xx
