Hi, someone on my livery yard is going to give my 15.3hh Thoroughbred a blanket clip this weekend. She doesn't clip horses for a living or anything like that she just happens to own a set of clipper and will do it for me so I'm wondering how much to pay her. She said it will probably take her arounf 45 minutes but obviously doesn't have any travel costs as is already going to be at the yard. Thanks!

I paid £15 for a full clip that took an hour and half the other week. However we're a close yard and we're all friends. I think £20-25 sounds right for a blanket clip.

I pay nothing but if I was paying I would pay around £25
If it's the first clip of the year then getting all the lines straight and equal can be frustrating and time consuming so for that I think £15 is rather low.

Would you agree with £25 for a first clip and then £20 after, as the lines will already be done? Thanks for all your replies by the way - you are such a helpful bunch!

I paid £30 last week for a blanket clip, but it was so expertly done I thought it was a real bargain, at least compared to what I get charged at the hairdressers per square inch.
