How much would you pay for a Stubben GP?

Just to start, I'm not advertising in any way, merely seeking advice!!

I have a Stubben Siegfried GP/Jump that I want to sell. It's in good condition and its really quite a nice smart looking saddle.

I advertised it as 'sensible offers' and someone has offered me £100...

Am I being too optimistic by thinking its worth a fair bit more? I've seen some advertised around the £400 mark and was hoping for at least £250!

Don't let it go for that!!

Stubbens are very hard wearing and last forever (unlike a lot of saddles these days) but not everyone likes them as the seats are a bit firm. Worth at least £250 if you ask me, I have one I ought to sell (I don't have anything it will fit ATM but I might do one day!!), it's in fantastic nick so unless someone made me a really good offer I'm keeping it!

Depends on condition/age/is it a common size? Even taking all those things into account Stubbens are becoming less desirable as very often a better fit can be obtained as things have moved on rather and Stubbens don't have a terribly horse/back friendly design.

If your saddle is in good nic and isn't a freaky size then I would still be expecting to get close to the £250 you suggest though.

Try seeing what Saddles Direct would offer you, I have found them reasonable in the past. Also check what similar saddles have sold for on ebay (search completed auctions), should give you more of an accurate idea.

Assuming your saddle isn't out of the arc then £100 really does seem rather low!

Thank god! Thought for a moment I was being really ambitious with it!

Not quite sure what to reply other than 'Are you serious..?' :D:p

I don't care to much about age as long as saddle is well caared for i usually pay around the £200 mark for a good old stubben that just as general colour fade and leather wear i would pay a little more for one in top notch order and a fair bit less for one that was scuffed and more battered looking. but i am not loaded so can be a bit tight with my budget but have always found one for my budget. If any of you have a wide one i am intrested somehtig in the 32 width fit range as my 30 doesnt come close on the new boy so sold it but now can't find any wide ones :-(

I got £195 for my Stubben Seigfried jumping saddle on eBay. I think they are a love them or loathe them type of saddle. They are going out of fashion as they are heavy and don't have any padding on the seat.

I loved my Stubben - it was second hand when I bought it, and fitted pretty much every TB I put it on - it was a 29.

It did have an incredibly hard seat, but I put a HM seatsaver on it and then it was comfy!!

I know Stubben is not fashionable, but I thought it was a very secure saddle and the horses seemed to like it.

I think £100 is far too little - unless it is one of those curious Stubbens that seems to have a 'banana' shape tree - I never understood what they would fit!!!

I have one that I advertised recently for £100 and got no response.....although to be fair I didn't try very hard but I thought if I made it cheap it would just go.

I am a loath them person a Stubben was the most uncomfortable saddle I ever had!
