How much would you pay for this livery?

and...barefoot?(you, not the horse!)

So how much would you pay for YOUR horse to be kept at the following yard on DIY per week?.....

Livery yard in great location, in the countryside but also near main roads (M40 10 mins away)

Facilities included are-

Brand new american barn stabling
60 x 40 metre floodlit arena, with mirrors
Full set of PolyJumps
Indoor horse walker
Solarium
Wash room with hot water
Client's lounge
Toilet
Shower
Tack room with individual lockers
Feed room
Rug room
1 mile XC course with lots of jumps
5 mile farm ride
Good turnout (24/7 in summer) with permanent electric fencing
Individual turnout available
Services available (such as turning out, feeding, etc)

Unlimited hay and straw will be included in the price, flax or NedzBedz will be available (limited amount)
 
I would go for £45 per week. When I had my horse on 7 day part livery, with all the facilities you have listed above I was paying £65 per week. So I think £45 is a reasonable price to ask. If you drop much under that then I would expect the DIY'ers to pay for their own hay or bedding.
 
That sounds v similar to what i have now.........we don't have a walker or rug room but everything else is the same.

I pay £150 a month basic but hay/bedding is on top charged on how much you use.

The same with services........pay for turnout/muckout etc if and when we use them.

So i'd probs pay around £200 a month if not a little more, the livery you quoted.

I pay £25 per week, all straw included, 2 walkers, private estate to hack around, lots of wooden SJs, 20 x 40 floodlit arena (fantastic surface, never floods or freezes), choice of 12 x 16 stable or a pen (I have a pen), post and rail or stud rail fencing on paddocks. YO will carry out anything you ask her to (at a charge, minimum), but also free is...horses are hayed 4 x per day (7, 12, 4 and 10), farrier organised and dentist and boosters. We also have a full XC course, although it is not available all year as it is removed and put in the barn!

I would imagine £45-50 a week with those facilities and the hay/straw.
For me, my horse has a dust allergy so my only concern would be that I was paying for hay/straw that I wouldn't use as would need haylage !
 
OMG!! that sounds like a 5* hotel! i said £60+ cos liveries round me charge £25, for a share of a small fenced paddock, basic sandschool and nice countryside!! and they are stabled by night all year as theres not enough grazing to keep them out.
 
I paid £45 a week (think it was that) for a place with the same set up.


The only thing that was different was we had an indoor and no outdoor. Although the indoor was huge!!
 
I'm 3 miles from Moreton Morrell College, but most students will keep their horse there as most live on campus. They charge £45 per week, they might have 1 huge outdoor and 2 indoor areans but they can only use them in the evening (although sometimes not) and most weekends there are shows. They have no off-road riding and turnout is very rare! Oh and they have to have flax bedding and only get 2 bales a week.
 
Are there many yards in your area Weezy or not? (you do get a fantastic bargain!) Just asking as there are no other yards in my area like this, only bog standard stable and turnout ones, which is why I think people will be willing to pay around the £45 mark.....still not looking to make a huge profit though, you don't with horses

I had my horse on DIY when i was at Moreton Morrell, but would have much rather paid a little extra and had my horse somewhere like your yard, even if it meant i had to travel. I like my horse to be out as much as possible, and found it very hard only having a few hours turnout on not great pasture when i could get it, which was only every couple of days. There is no way i'd have had him there over the winter period.
 
There are a good few yards around here, ours is the best (I would say that) because of our private hacking and it is small and we all get on brilliantly! There are cheaper places I could go to, but I love it here

I put £41-50. I'm moving from DIY to full livery next month, and that's costing me £67 per week (in West Mids, so not a million miles from Sth Warks).

My new yard includes:
Use of indoor & outdoor school and horsewalker
Horse shower and solarium
Heated rug room, heated tack room, feed room
All year turnout (24/7 in summer, stabled overnight in winter) in small groups (max 4)
Permanent electric fencing or post and rail, with field shelters and auto waterers in paddock
Paddocks poo picked by machine (heaven!)
Large newly built wooden stables with auto waters, rubber matting and webcams - very 'big brother'!
All hay/haylege and shavings, and all bucket feed
Annual dentist visit, annual vaccinations, regular foot trimming and regular worming
Lots of off road hacking, a beautiful rural location, easy hack to nearby private estate
All other 'services' - turn in & out, rug changes, mucking out, feeding, grooming, etc
Excellent security - YO lives on site and guard dogs

So I'd say that, if you charged between £41 and £50, that'd not be far from the mark!

I would expect all of that for free for 3 (nearly 4) horses, because you would be honoured to have them and me grace your yard with our collective presence. No? Oh well, worth a shot

Seriously though, at my yard, for £50 a week, you get stable, individual TO, separate rug store, tack room, feed store, all the straw and hay you need, floodlit arena, miles and miles of off road hacking, XC course, kitchen area and there is a stable with heat lamps.

I don't pay that though, as mine are on grass livery. Neither will I have to pay that when B comes in closer to foaling, as I won't be using the extra facilities - or the straw for that matter! Will be foaling on either big flake shavings or paper.
 
Sounds very nice. Can't wait to see the finished result!

I think £45 per week sounds about right.

Just one small query though. Because it is such a luxurious yard, I would expect to have haylage included, which may push the price up closer to £50 per week.
