5 days turning out/bringing in
5 days mucking out
5 days poo picking
8kg of hay per night
1 bag of woodpellets a week.

Many thanks. Just worried that I'm under charging :-)

Roughly at our yard that would be £60 per week on top of our box which is 165 a month. Our yard is pretty expensive for livery as we have 1 outdoor and 2 indoor arenas. Amazing turnout and hacking. I would imagine the cost of services should be very similar no matter where you are but livery will vary

I paid £65 per week for nearly the same but straw bedding and adlib haylage. I could choose which 2 days I did so not a Mon-Fri service and if I went away it was an extra £10 (so basically £5 per day for jobs)
Fields weren't poo picked as alternated, harrowed and sprayed.
Loved it there :-)

A minimum of £70.00 a week but, realistically, you probably need to charge £100.00 to make any money to live on unless the basic charge for stable and grazing is quite high. The bottom line is that you need to make a profit if you are to have anything to live on, otherwise you are subsidising the horse owners.

If they were costed as individual extras, about £60-70 per week on top of the diy rent charges. If included as an overall five day part package, anything from £65 per week upwards all in, depending on where you are in the country. Packages are usually much better value than the individual elements - but then people are paying for flexibility when they purchase services individually.

I was on 5 day part and this was on wood pellets but ad lib hay. I paid £350 per month so approx £80 per week. I'm based Gloucestershire/Herefordshire borders.

I pay around £340 a month for 5 days full livery on shavings and adlib hay. I also get him turned out on a morning on the weekends. I do pay for shavings every other week though as my horse is messy. So £85 a week. I am in the North of Scotland

In my neck of the woods, this would be £35 for the box plus around £10-15 per day for the work, plus fodder/bedding (is rugging also included?). Looking at around £100 - £120 per week, plus extra for weekend.
Yard up the road does exactly this, its £550 pcm, weekends only by prior agreement at £20 per day inc rugs and feet pick and thats full day or nothing, so totally DIY for 2 days. They do have lit school, good heated tack room and hacking direct onto heathland, so no roadwork. They wont hold a waiting list....as liveries don't leave unless moving out of the area :)

I would be willing to pay..... (and bear in mind mine is at home, so I don't have livery prices to compare).....

£10 to £15 per day for the jobs. The £10 would be if it were a quick turnout, as in maybe no grooming other than a quick hoof pick, and a poo out/tidy up type muck out. The £15 for quick brush/rug change/ hoof pick and brush, and for proper muck out.

For the bag of pellets and hay I would pay market value plus a small profit to cover the faff of delivery and storage.

For the stable I would pay between £20 and £80 a week, depending on weather I had a nice stable with storage, a school and jumps, outriding, decent turnout.

ETA, for comparison, if I go away I pay £15 in the morning for someone to travel, turn out and do all the jobs, and £5 for someone more local to bring in and change rugs, all other jobs being done. My stable costs a lot more than £80 a week when you include buying it, maintenance of school, paddocks, roofs, shelters etc. But, I have no economies of scale... on the other hand I am not trying to make a profit. Plus, I allow £20 a week to hire a local show centre, and £50 a month for XC practice.

AETA- I just grabbed a calculator, and on the 5 day as proposed, with the work but no hay/bedding, I would pay £670 a calendar month, or £8060 a year. eeek. I am very particular though, and I guess to get a livery I liked I would have to pay this fee. Good job I would be willing to pay it!! I can see where all my money goes! I guess with bedding/ hay and a few extra days I would be over 10K. Best hope OH does not see this! The new horse that is on his way might be cancelled :-O

I pay £40/week for turn out, bring in and skip out (deep litter) five days a week. I'd calculate the cost for poo-picking as time taken at approximately minimum wage, and the cost of the hay and bedding can be calculated (plus a percentage extra for wastage). £55 seems awfully good value.

I pay £10 a day for full livery. That includes, livery, services, ad lib haylage, straw, basic feed and all sorts of extras like clipping etc. I pay a bit more at the minute, £100 a week, and for that hes also worked 4 days a week, but I skip out and hay/water on a weekend. Hes still done first and last thing though

Just thought to add- my boy is currently in schooling/sales livery which is 7 days per week plus 5 days ridden and all bedding/hay/feed included for £135- works out cheaper than some of your quotes for 5 day livery. (This is with a very good event rider)

The lady I rent from charges £30 a week for a box, field and adlib hay. I would say £10 a day for services, plus the shavings, so about £80-£90 a week minimum.

A yard near me charges £350 pcm for 5 day full livery including hay/ haylage & straw but not hard feed. I don't think exercise is included. Very nice facilities including great hacking and a very good 30x50 outdoor ménage.

Normally it is around £10 a day for the services alone so unless you are making your own hay and have a mega cheap supplier of wood pellets you are probably not charging enough for what you are offering.

I would be saying £50 for the services plus the cost of supplying the hay and wood pellets.

My yard does it per day then times the days in the month, but for that type of livery with ad lib hay and straw for all 7 days, muck out/turnout/bring in/fill nets for 5 of those days it would be £394 for a 31 day month

For £60 P/w I would get what you have listed minus poo picking (We don't poo pick, fields are harrowed sprayed). And the bedding would be straw.

I currently pay £40 P/W for Stable (£25 P/w) Hay (£10 p/w) and Mon-Friday morning feed & turnout (£5 P/w). I can't put mare on straw as the little swine eats the lot and colics.

I'd expect the £55 per week to be about right EXCLUDING box and facility rental.

1 hour labour at £8ph a day = £40
Big bale hay on average £10 a week
£5 for a bag of wood pellets
