A bit of a random one sorry....

Would you pay to have your horse professionally photographed and if so how much would you expect to pay? (I'm on about you taking your horse to someone or them coming to you, not the ones you get at events)

Has anyone had it done?

Thanks

im not a pro - i have agood camera and its a part time job while im at uni!

i charge.. £12 for an A4... £4 for a 6x4 and £8 for CD first ones and £6 for each one thereafter...
i can do other sizes too but they are the most popular ones

you will find people will charge a "sitting fee" though which will work out a lot more!

hope that helps :)

Thanks Noodle!

I hope you dont mind me asking but do you get much work? Are there many or only a few people that are willing to pay to have their horses (and themselves with their horses) photographed?

I did.
I used Simon Palmer, www.into-the-lens.com
You can have a look on his website for prices, but as an idea, I paid £35 for an hours shoot, and £85ish for a 21 page, A4 sized book of photos.
I had this done when Mason was 5, and am hoping to get them done at 5 year intervals - hopefully when he's 10 I'll get some ridden ones!

A friend of mine does it as a business on the side & she charges £25 for an hour shoot & all the pictures on a disc...mine were fab!!

Ooo I often wondered if people did this.
Dads pictures always seem to have me blinking, ears back or of Rumps!!!

Does anyone know of someone who I could ask to follow me hunting - I really want some good shots of my hard work out on the field!!! :P
Either that or follow me out hacking (I wouldnt make them walk 10miles ;) )
Based near Witney, Oxfordshire

alpha1 - tbh i dont have the time to advertise it properly. But if i did i colud have a lot more customers....thats just on my yard

but.... its offputting as i have to factor in editing time and also account for those who take my pictures and stick them on fb (with sig on lol!!) - (im at uni and have exams in a month!!)

so in all honesty, it isnt worth my time or effort most of the time...!!... id rather just do pics of my dog/horse and my best friends horses and shows :)

as they dont nick them and tbh i take pride in what i do and i believe everything you can should be captured in a photo... so nice memories like my dogs/outings/shows etc :)
