I know the renting of horseboxes is a bit fraught with problems but how much would you expect to pay to rent a 10 horse HGV lorry with living (very nice, used to be a racehorse transporter lorry) per month?

The organisation that owns it doesn't want it sitting around all summer - the question is how much should they charge per month?

Not sure, but down here they are being rented for £50 a day, expensive! But some cattle lorrys but horse suited are £40 :)

£50 a day?
Cheap!
Here it's £60 for a small box, 2 horses no living space.
Plus then the diesel for it too..

cheapest we can get a lorry for up here is about 100 a day and thats a 2 horse box, no living, only allowed to do 100 miles, if your going say 60 each way for a show, your doomed basically as they charge £1 extra per mile and you have to pay for the diesel

Lets assume its a 1ooK box. Per month ,return on investment £800 @10%, Depreciation £800, Maintenance and tyres £400. Two grand per month. That would be a straqight commercial rate. You would be responsible for tax and insurance.
