How much would you pay?!

Just been thinking about the extreme variety of prices for grassroots eventers and was wondering how much people are actually prepared to pay for a straightforward 5-8yr old capable of being placed at BE90/100?

Is it really ridiculous to ask in the region of £10k for a horse of this calibre?!

Any insight would be interesting :)

An 5-8 year old that is straightforward and consistently placed at 90/1m is worth quite a lot as usually means it has the potential to go higher. The horse could end up being a good junior or young rider horse - sensible, straightforward and competitive.

Prices could range from 5k to 20k - all depends on the potential tbh.

Price would depend on record. If potential then lower end, if consistent results on BE at this level and a straightforward horse, absolutely the top end.

No not at all. If I see anything like that for less than 8k I wonder why tbh
If I'd have had an ideal season mine would be up for sale at 10k now. Sadly my saddle stopped fitting & it is taking a couple of months out my season so likely I will do the later events do a bit of BD & BS in the autumn then pop her up for about 10k

I think people will pay for someone that is easy both to ride & on the ground that will do 90s & 100s competitively :)

If something is more complicated but is more of a grassroots type then I would expect it to be less, but if something is more complicated & will go novice & onwards then would expect it to be more
