How much would you pay?

Do you know any horses who have suffered acorn poisoning?

How much would you be willing to pay/should I charge; for an A3 size oil painting of your horse, taken from photographs.
As I am always being told I don't charge enough!

Depends how good it is as there are a lot of (ahem) not so talented artists about!
I'm not referring to any one in particular so no offence meant...but it can be quite difficult to get a true likeness of an animal.

I have just bought the picture below of my horse. It is in Pastel which I prefer to oil but thats personal preference. I paid £400 unframed - and am now paying £150 for it to be framed. It is life size

Thanks, 3 of the pictures in my sig are paintings, I think they are very good and my previous customers have always been very happy, but I agree a lot of not v good artists exist and it annoys me that most of them charge more than me!

PaintedLucky, I think your paintings are brilliant, and I would happily pay over £100 for an A3 oil of my horse! TBH i think to pay less is a slight insult!! We have two paintings in our house of our dogs, there is a real likeness and they are around A3 and one is slightly smaller. We paid well over £100 for both of those and they are well worth it!

I paid £250 for a portrait of my two and it was worth every penny, especially since I sadly lost one of them three years ago. It has pride of place in my living room and everybody says how lovely it is. Yours are beautiful and I would be glad to pay £100 for a portrait.

i would have absolutely no problem paying over £100 for a good likeness of my horse. its something i would have forever long after my horse is gone, photographs are great but not quite the same as commissioning a portrait

Wow that painting is beautiful. I love the tones. Might ask for one of my boy for Xmas!
