you would budget per month to keep a horse on DIY at a yard at £80pcm, including shoes, insurance, feed etc etc. I know its a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but I have been horseless for the past 12 months so trying to figure out how much I should budget for keeping my own again, when we did have our own we never dared add up the costs :p Thinking around £200 a month? With living in on a night in winter and out 24/7 in summer, not including lessons or competition fees.

Probably about £250-300 pcm to cover for vaccs, worming, rugs and all other bits and bobs, as well as the usual. This was how much is cost us to keep a 17hh ID on a DIY yard at £75pcm
