I am in the process of arranging a XC lesson at a BE course for my riding club. The prices I am getting quoted for a top instructor are high with regards to riding club pricing and I don't want it to be a flop or the club to lose money.

My question is how far would you travel for such a lesson and what would you expect to pay if it was your riding club arranging??

The clinic type things I have done were in a group of 3 or 4, with Pammy Hutton and Lucinda Green one was £45 and the other was £50, but that wouldnt include the hire of the course.
Basically if this is for your RC, I would get a block price for the course hire, find out how much the trainer will be for the day, and then divide that by say 10 or however many people you think will definitely do it. That will give you an idea of how much cost is involved then add on a small amount to add to the RC finances and bingo!
Then if you get more than expected you can either lower the price or the RC will benefit from the extra funds!

I pay £40 for a clinic with Nick Turner - this includes course hire (Milton Keynes, Ely or Hill House) and there are normally 4/5 people per group.

I am organising a clinic with my instructor (Advanced eventer rider but not famous yet) for 15 people (3 90 minute sessions with 5 riders per group). The XC course is charging us £10 per rider (instead of the usual £15) and my instructor is charging £150 + lunch and petrol (which I'll cover). That works out at £20 a head....a bargain methinks!

I think I'd pay a top of about £100 for a clinic with WF-P/Pippa/the Hoys etc and would travel up to 2 hours. I'd expect a decent length of time on the course though and the opportunity to chat to them as well (perhaps over a picnic lunch!)

I think I paid £12.50 for hire of the course and then £25.00 for a lesson with a pro eventer in a group of 4.

i am in an RC and if it was over a BE course with a top instructor i would be willing to pay £40-50..
i'm doing an XC clinic at Tweseldown with Mark Corbett in feb, it's £48..

Ship organises them for our RC & we did a indoor XC clinic with Sharon Hunt over christmas & that was £40 for 40 mins in groups of 2 including hire of indoor school. We were full & had a wait list.
We are now planning XC schooling & it'll work out at £45 for 1 1/2 hours in groups of 4 including course hire. Again I would imagine we will fill it no problem.
Personally I would pay up to £50 for a good instructor & £60 if it was a well known pro.

My friend is organising some clinics for our RC - Indoors SJ/simulated xc with Will Miflin for £25.00 for an hour 4/5 riders in group and is trying to do a xc one over a BE course with Matt Ryan for £55-60 for 1hr30mins
