A friend of mine has seen a horse she is most probably going to buy as a project, now this is her living and she is far more experienced at it than me (who bought a project and has decided to keep it
) and usually I can't believe the prices (low) she manages to get nice horses for. However, just this once, I think she is going to pay to much for a horse. She is definately buying this horse, so this is just sort of for me to see if you guys would agree with me, or wether you'd pay it............. unfortunately I can't put the pics on as she hasn't paid yet.
It is a 16hh (just about) bay 5yo mare by Matterhorn (KWPN - Ramiro, Nimmerdor lines). Not sure on Dam line, I'm told it is good but not what it actually is!!
She is a very attractive horse with a very willing and easy temprament and has lovely conformation... apart from a small curb on her hock (

She has done VERY little for a 5yo - she has been backed and is working nicely at prelim / novice level but has no established lateral work or been jumped under saddle, nor has she been to any sort of competition.
She is also looking pretty scruffy ATM but it is purely cosmetic (she just needs a clip etc).
So what do you think that is worth as it stands??
Also, She would be brought on in dressage not jumping so although someone could buy her to get her jumping, she would be aimed at the dressage market - would this de-values her bloodlines a bit as I would have thought they would carry more value to SJers?
