Sorry if these "How Much Questions" are annoying but i'm really interested to know how much people would expect to pay for this horse.

He is a 16.3, 7year old chestnut warmblood gelding. An absolute stunning looking horse, but i dont think he has done that much in the form of competing, he has gone out to a few local shows, but thats all. He came over from germany two years ago and i have been told he has breed lines from Calvaro Z. Now the thing is he is currently at a riding school, he is only being used for the advanced classes and i don't think he is earning his keep but will the fact that he is only being ridden by riding school people affect his price?

Now i really like this horse and he is up for sale, i have only rode him four times, he goes pretty well but needs a lot of work and although he is seven, i know he has potential. He was up for sale last year but didnt sell, i dont know why or for how much, i am really interested in buying this horse but dont want to be ripped off.

So if any of you knowledgable folks can give me a rough estimate, that would be a real help.

does he hack out?
jump?

i actually think it may increase his value if he is used in a riding school as it should mean he is safe.

my only conccern would be why is a horse imported from germany as a 5yro working in a riding school?

Personally I would be suspicious of the reasons he ended up in a riding school, and I would also be close to 100% certain they wouldn't have paid much for him! As such I wouldn't pay over the odds, simply because doing endless amounts of circles with different riders certainly wouldn't have improved his saleability or his value

I have a Cavallo Z reject, also 7 coming on 4! He was stuck in a field and skin and bone when I bought him but he's well schooled and went clear around a 1m open the first time we took him out. That was after pratting around in the collecting ring 'cos he didn't know what was going on. He's a real sweetie to handle.

A lot is expected of these well bred horses and if they don't do what's expected of them, they get the push. I paid £2250 for the boy and he's coming on in leaps and bounds (not literally!). Hope that helps.

I don't know much about the prices of big horses only pony but maybe he is no completely sound and that is why he is in a riding school.

He may be able to cope with low level work but perhaps he has had a tendon injury and can't jump or compete to a high level?

Riding schools do not like spending money on buying horses and if someone thought this was a serious competition horse the RS would have sold it long ago at a profit and bought several horses with the money. RS tend not to need competition horses but more RC club all rounders.
