Long time no type to people!!

Just wanted a quick how much on Red if possible,

He may have to be sold, its all up in the air at the moment, and i will keep him for as long as possible but wanted your opinions please so i can prepare financially.

16.1hh ID x TB Chestnut gelding 9yo (this year)
100% in traffic to hack, snaffle mouthed at all times, seen hounds, been to beach. Got 63% in dressage test, good to do at shows, gentleman.

Schools nicely and jumps a cross pole. Lovely nature, can be a bit shy with strangers but very affectionate when he gets to know you.

Easy to do, lives on fresh air never strong or silly, good to load and travel.

Here is a pic:

Im not going to say how much i paid for him if thats ok.

I have had him for 8 months, he is honestly perfect for me, i love him to bits, i never thought i would find a horse as nice as this again after my old one was retired but unfortunately due to personal circumstances i may have to sell him, i know i wont find another like him in the future but i dont think i have a choice.

No work needed doing to him at all, had physio to him, to check him when i first got him and he got the all clear, no problems.

He does have a nice jump in him and i believe he has done it in the past but i dont jump. I wouldnt know how high he can jump because i havent done it but he did jump a 5 bar gate from a standstill one day, does that count?!!

xx

Hope you don't have to sell him. He is lovely - a quality all rounder who is obviously safe and sensible. He can probably turn his hoof to most things, and is very genuine. This type are hard to find, so I would guess around £4,000. I think you will probably have quite a queue forming if you do have to sell him.......

If he is safe, healthy and viceless, then I would say £3500 to sell him. You may get more if you were willing to wait. Much less and the dealers will come in.

Yes he is safe, healthy and vice less.

I do realise what a gem i have on my hands and i hope i dont have to sell him but it is a possibility, hope it doesnt come to that though

xx

Sorry to hear you might be forced to sell him

I would have said somewhere in the region of £3.5k to £4k for something of his type. He's a nice looking horse, and if he's as genuine as you say then there's a real market for his sort

Thats ok x

I would tend to go for £3000

But that would be to a private home , but if it was about money then I would be asking for 3500

Is there no way you can keep him ?

I found out i was pregnant with ds2 ( not saying this is whats happening with you lol ) but i thought there was no way i could have coped , dh even said i didnt have to, but i couldnt see a way through it , and thinking back, I probably could have coped but unfortunately nothing i can do about it now

Hes lovely hun , keep us updated xx

I would say £3- £4k as he is very nice. If they are safe they go for more money. I sold a pony who was 14.2hh and only done PC activities for £7k (she was 9 yrs old). They paid all that money simply because the pony was as safe as houses.

Hi Mel

I dont really know what price to put him at as i am not dressagy at all but considering he is such a great confidence giver and does well at dressage i would say between £3,500-£4,500.

I really hope you dont have to sell him as i know how much he means to you. I take it you have already thought about the possibility of loaning him out if it comes to it??

No not thought of a loan, it is another option but i dont want him to go to pot, i have seen so many loans gone wrong and i would have to find just the right person! Not sure i would ever find someone good enough, if you know what i mean!!

xx

I know what your saying but could be worth thinking about if you cant bear to part with him, even if he just went to a hacking home until you were in a better position to take him back.

He might come back a bit rusty but i'm sure you would get him back into shape in no time

Anyway i wish you good luck and i will keep my fingers crossed that its doesn't come to that x

I've been looking at a lot of horses for sale lately (like to be prepared welllll in advance!) and I would say he is out of what I imagine my future budget to be (3K) as I would be very pleased to own a horse like him. So I think you are looking £3,500 to £4,000.

Sorry to hear you might have to sell...hope you don't as he looks stunning!
He's just what I'm after. Price wise I'm not totally sure as my budget atm (if OH ever pays me what he owes) is around 3500-4k but even not very well schooled ones are asking 3500 atm (whether they get this I have no idea). The prices just keep going higher so if you don't have to sell right now you may get much more.
