So, the other day I discovered that Hoss's show sheet has been eatened by the pesky whiskered critters over the winter! Oh well, I think, it was probably about time he had a new one anyway. Off I trot to the local saddlers and then, having had no success, I spend hours trawling the web.

I want a 6'9" navy cotton sheet - how hard could that be, I hear you ask. Well, turns out it's not difficult at all if you're prepared to pay £30-£70!!!!!!! When did they get so expensive? You can get l/w turnouts and stable rugs for cheaper than that!

:mad:So now I'm hacked off and don't know what to do! Can't have the boy turning up in a rug that's more holes than rug but what to do? :(

was that a reply to me? here i've copied and pasted the rug:

Yeah, a navy one. I thought it would be fairly easy to find one but it seems it would be easier to find a magenta one with lime green stripes and flurescent orange stars than something as normal as navy!

I'll end up making one at this rate! :D

Are there no tack sales near you? I picked up 2 lovely cotton sheets for £10 at the end of last year. They don't match but none of my stuff does!

I've been to 5 local stores now and, even in the sales they're nearly £30 AND the most hideous shades of puce or pink or only big enough to cover 1/4 of my horse.

^^^^^^
If you click more images you can see the navy, red, white one. The red is on the belly straps, chest straps, along the back and round the edge. :)

I bought a Shires cotton sheet, navy with red edging for £15 recently (from our local tack shop). But if you Google 'Navy Cotton sheet' the same one comes up for £15.99 to buy online. :)

I just bought a jumpers horse line one from equestrian clearance the other day, less than £30 and the quality is good too.

Oh and it is navy!

Have a look at Derby house, home brand ones are nice & cheap iirc. And look for local horsey car boots. Got a lovely one for £3, admittedly 4'9, but horse sizes weren't much more.
