When the light at the gate goes on, this is the sign to stand absolutely still. No squelching is allowed, it may give away our posistion. Remember, 'she' can't see into the field with that light cos the stupls electrician out it in the wrong place whislt 'she' was a work.

When 'she' comes into the field and shouts, no-one must move. Even if it is windy 'she' might hear us.

'She ' willl be forced to go back to the house and look for a (working) torch. This gives us an opportunity to huddle into the walls/hedging and make sure the reflective parts of the rugs are hidden. When 'she' comes back into the field waving the torch around do not let the beam touch you. It will burn a hole in your rug, and should it touch your skin it will burn it away. If 'she' comes towards you, step away in horror.

Eventually, 'she' will capture someone and drag them back up the hill. The rest of us should move futher down the hill. 'She' needs the excercise, it will do her good to walk around. After all, she's been stuck in an office all day. Repeat the avoidance of torch burn when 'she' comes back. At this point 'she' will try and select the one of us 'she' thinks will make the others follow. Try and resist the temptation to follow. It is much better to let her select one, and then wait until she is almost at the gate, before all galloping up behind her and making her leap through the mud (hopefully getting covered in it!).

Once in the vicinity of the gate, DO NOT stand at the gate nicely waiting to to caught. Hide just around the corner, so each time 'she' has to walk back through the mud. The excercise will do her good.

Once everyone has been captured and installed in their stables, everyone must immediately make a fuss for being kept waiting so long for their supper.

By my ponies (grr)

God I so utterly wish my two were a bit more like this. Mine are always pacing in the gateway by the time I get there cutting up my field. I get hold of them and both of them try and rush the leccy fence. Much shouting of the word 'stand' ensues until the eventually give up although one will always be facing in the wrong direction by this point. Leccy fence is opened and they both try to drag me down the field so I am basically mud skiing. We get to the gate and the whole procedure starts again. Then the car lights on the road are terrifying and we have to jump, run sideways and basically do anything other than walk politely down the walkway. There is a specially muddy patch round the corner which Nitty has to jump over. Then because the rope goes taught she ends up facing Brown Horse again only it's really narrow to turn around now as we are between two post and rails.
Finally we get to the yard and she either storms full tilt into her stable so I bash my shins on the door or refuses to take herself in so I end up with both of them trying to get into one box because I have to go in first.

Wanna swap?

Lol love it :D
Especially the exercise will do her good, know that one all to well with my lad. His thoughts on the matter are that if he's on a diet then I should be too! I shouldn't grumble though, at least he's exercising himself when he's tearing about the field!:p

Bad ponies, maybe "she" should let you stay out for the night if thats where you want to be (with no supper) :D God I am mean .... .... ....

And yes you are right, that torch light does burn and it keeps chasing me round the field and I run really fast and my "she" says "sod u then" and leaves a bucket in the field anyway....... Love Samba x x x x x
