How often do you clean your tack....be honest!!!!

I clean my bridle weekly ( we are talking full strip down and hot water clean ) and if its gets wet or gets greasy in the mean time i do as i need to.

Saddle gets done ever few weeks as i dont like to over do it.

I always tack clean beofre a show too.

I have very nice tack which cost me alot of money so i like to keep it nice plus its so supple and comfy for my horse. I couldnt put a dirty crusty stiff bridle on my horse.
 
I always feel bad that I just give my tack a quick wipe after I ride. I keep telling myself I'll take it home and give it a good clean but it never happens! lol
 
I feel so guilty now......

Had new saddle 4 yrs ago and cleaned it after every ride for the first month. Since then, only when the saddler comes out.

Have Zilco harness and Zilco bridle for riding in, so that gets wiped over when it's so dirty I can't tell it's supposed to be black.....

Maybe once every couple of months?

Thinking about it, maybe its more, my tack cleaning is goverened by rain, dressage and shows - each time in each case.

However funnily enough I did look at it yesterday and decide really must do the saddle, my muddy boots have made the stirrup leathers muddy and that can't be good!
 
I love clean tack! so at least once a week. Show bridle is done when i get back from show so ready for next time! then have a work bridle and lunge bridle that get done once a week! saddle once a week!
 
Ha ha - this post made me feel guilty last night - so I've just cleaned three bridles (properly, taking them apart) and all my spare leather ... will tackle saddles when I get back to the yard!
 
I work at a yard where we clean all the tack every day...I now think it feels so nice to put clean tack on a horse that if I ever get my own I can't see myself doing it any less!
 
Every time I go to a show, but we do tend to go out pretty much weekly. I used to clean everytime I ride but dont have the time or the inclination now!
I always clean the bit each time I ride though.
 
Before and after hunting twice a week in the winter.

On a Friday night before my Sat morning lesson in the summer and before any hunter trial/event/horsey thing in public!!
 
I rinse the bit after I ride and try to do it at least once a fortnight. At the end of the day, I paid a blimming fortune for my tack and don't want it ruined just because I couldn't be bothered! I am pretty anal about it now.
