A handful of times in 20 years but just home from an evening in A&E after a particularly nasty bronking session. Back in the morning for pelvis xray and tests on kidney. Oh happy days, still could have been trampled so lucky really. The 2 injections in my butt are great takes away the pain!:o

I have really only fallen off a handful of times since I started riding. but I tend to get hurt more by always getting the nightmare to lead ones that no one else wants to lead. lol

Quite a few times @ 20 years ago when I was learning, mostly to do with jumping! In the past 10 years only twice....first one I splatted on tarmac and broke my collarbone, second one was so silly. I was on my old lad babysitting a girl on her mare. Mare took umbrage at something, tried to double-barrell him, and he span to double her back....I found myself sitting quite comfortably in a big puddle facing the rear of my (now stationary) horse.....I reckon that was the only time I could have come off him without chucking myself off!
Had my now 5YO for 16 months now, and not come off....yet!!!!

I was told you are not a rider until you fall off at least 100 times - I am sure I have greatly exceeded that total, but am not convinced I am a rider yet!

My current horse is a decent guy most of the time, but when he comes in after his winter break he is a complete git for 3-4 weeks and decks me almost everytime I ride unless I lunge him a lot, and sometimes even then!

He did plant me into the middle of a jump at show about 6 weeks ago, have not been SJ since!

I've never fallen off (touches wood very quickly). However, I've only been riding for 3 years, and the first 18months was just lessons in a riding school. After that I've mainly been a happy hacker, on a nice safe pony. I don't do unnecessary risk!!!

Very rarely - think perhaps about 10 times in my entire life. With my current competition horse (owned 8 years), I've only fallen off him twice and one was a tack malfunction. Its funny as even though I compete most weekends (BSJA & BE), I've only fallen off twice that I can think of at an event. Rest have been at home! I dont get people who fall off regularly, how do they stay so confident? I think I'd give up if I fell off all the time!

Sorry to put a 'plug' in here - but the RS-tor is great for falls prevention and can be used in British Show Jumping competitions. Susi Rogers Hartley (are you on here today Susi?!!!), says "although I have still had a few falls [since using it], they have been drastically reduced which I put solely down to the RS-tor. It is a really great piece of kit - especially with my sharp horse who is a real spooker and spinner!" www.rstor.co.uk.
Stay safe everyone!

Not too often, as i have gotten used to the dead stops that my boy can dish out!

Best one was my friend falling off in walk!!! haha - wasn't looking where she was going, then her pony decided it wanted to go under a tree which was too small for the both of them ... she was fine so I was aloud to laugh :D

Not that often...but they come all at once then not for ages :) Definitely jumping seems to cause falls!! Think I've done ok with my ride to fall ratio considering some of the horses I get on...(and some of the ones I fall off!)

Oh I have fallen off a fair amount of times over the years, since I have had my current horse (just over 2years) I have fallen off once each year. Which is amazing considering the stunts he has pulled, but each time it has been my fault, 1st time jumping, 2nd time he spooked and I hit the ground before I realised what had happened.
Just starting to jump him a bit more so no doubt I have lots to come. Really really hate falling off!

I'm a bit scared to reply as don't want to jinx myself as I haven't fallen off for about 10 years but really made up for it before then with and exhuberant french trotter cross who used to like to jump me out of the saddle ALOT I was also a tiny lightweight teenager (not sure what happened since:o:() so used to be asked to ride all the naughty ponies which occasionally ended in a dumping.

Hope I haven't ruined my luck :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
