How often do you have bad days?

How often do you and your horse have those days where you wishd you'd stayed in bed?

And if you feel it's gonna be a bad day/ride, how do you handle it?

depends....when I was riding 5/6 times a week I would have an off day once or twice? But then me horse was green! thats my excuse!

sometimes it would be great for a couple of weeks then have a really bad week

edited to say an off day for me needs to be pretty bad - lately I have been trying not to get so down about it

It depends... sometimes we click and work great together; other times she hates me and I have a close relationship with the floor

When we have a bad day I do some work in walk for 10 mins so she doesn't 'win' and I don't 'lose' and we end on a reasonably good note.

I've been quite stressed lately (er....last 6 months!) with lots of things going on away from the horses, so I've noticed when I've been riding that if I'm really stressed my horse picks up on it and it turns into a nightmare. I really noticed a couple of weeks ago when I'd had a couple of days off work and was feeling really chilled - I rode and he went beautifully

It was so easy! So I'm trying really hard at the minute not to stress out with him.

I haven't had a bad day particularly for a few weeks now - he's been a good boy

No I don't think I do particularly.

I used to with Amy many years ago - but now I have learnt to go with the flow.

If something's up, there's usually a reason for it - so tend not to get too hung up on it.

Always bad if I try and school early in the morning - to grumpy, no patience!

I ride 6 days a week and I usually have one day a week when things go I bit pear shaped usually due to my shocking riding or me losing my confidence and George getting confused! I am getting better though and now if I've had a really stressful day I will often just groom and fuss George and take him for a walk - works for us both!

I'd say once or twice a month, but I cant ride at the mo and wont be riding until October time, so, I'm sure its going to be a lot more until I get back into the swing of riding again!
