Hi guys,

Just being nosy really :D

Iv just started having lessons again and aim to have at least 1 per month at the very leas as horsey and i really need them!! For an hour I pay £30 which isnt extorsionate (spelling?) but it all adds up when your paying livery etc..... Im really hoping to get out and about to shows and achieve our full potential...well mine...probably not hers! lol

once a week, and I pay £23.50 for the lesson and £10 to hire a local school. I couldn't survive without my lessons though so I think it's money well spent as it helps so much with my confidence issues!

Once a week at the moment, £20 for an hour's private tuition (dressage, also lunging).
Makes a real difference to my confidence:)

i have two lessons a week..one with my riding club which is 12.50 euros for the hour...the other is 20 euros for a private lesson. i also go jumping once a week at my local riding school and thats 10 euros for 2 rounds
its money well spent.and i really enjoy it.
the way i look at it is if i went to the pub i would spend alot more!!

£15 for an hour or so private tuition... +/- a bit depending on me and the horse... That is for fairly basic, confidence giving lessons though...

£20 per week, as I share diesel prices with others that hav them, if no one else has them just me then its £30, but that's very rare. As above once a week as I could no way survive without them! X

Depends on what I'm doing and how the horse is going. I go to a group SJ lesson every week as it is a chance to jump around a proper BSJA course at a really good venue locally to me, the group is very well match and it's always good fun! that way if I don't get a chance to jump at home that week it keeps him ticking over. For flatwork probably every other week during the eventing season or if there is something I'm having problems with I will have more! (maybe every week) Cost is £20 For Group SJ and £25 for a private Flatwork at home.

At least once a week. We do a semi-private that works out at 15 pp for an hour. When time allows I'll have a second one 15 per half hour (30 for hour).
Also trying to compete dr or sj at least every other week.

Wow my lessons are expensive compared to yours. £40 per hour and ATM once a week as I have a youngster and we are learning things. It will taper down to fortnightly or monthly at some point.

I have a lesson fortnightly - £25.00 for an hour and I go to hers with a lovely large indoor arena (better than my little outdoor!)

Depends who i have it with, atm just trying a few and see who we get on with but last lesson was $40(pounds) for 45minutes. Would idealy like one every fornight but horse has got so many problems at the mo :p

Mine are £40 per hour for flatworm lessons with grand price rider. As my girl is only young we have one every week as we need the help! Will prob change to fortnightly once she's more established but I do consider it to be money well spent.

P.s I do know someone who teaches locally that's £1 a minute which I thought was EXPENSIVE considering I'd never heard of her.

£50 for 45 min once a week with a UK International Grand Prix rider / trainer
£80 for 45 min once a month with a top Dutch International Grand Prix rider/trainer - expensive, but there is huge progress in every session

£45 per hour with BHSI/Cheif Examiner, try to have 1 a fortnight, it is expensive but he is a brilliant instructor which also helps my teaching.

Mine are £40 per hour for flatworm lessons with grand price rider.

Grand price indeed! and what are flatworms?!! lol I am just about to start lessons again and mine cost £35.00 per session. I can only afford twice a month but hopefully that will be enought o make a difference.

I have a few different people.

My regular flat work trainer, was 'just' a livery at my old yard, but the only person there I wanted to ride like, so I asked her who taught her, and she offered to teach me. £15 an hour weekly for the lesson, I now box back there to see her, and catch up for coffee quite often without the horse! The instruction I get then is free. :D

I do a grid work/jumping lessson every second week for £20 for the session inc hire of an indoor school, session can be 30 mins to an hour ish, depending on if it's going well or badly! Bargin.

I have joined a RC this year, really like one of their regular flat work trainers, so going to have one of those once a month as they have a huge outdoor they use and my boy's eyes fall out of his head at mirrors etc, so good tuition and getting to ride somwhere scary makes the £15 for an hour with 1 other person very much worth it.

I have the odd one off with a woman on our current yard who's doing her stage 4, for £10 an hour. She's the drill queen on position and has a different way of saying things, so can help with niggling problems - currently jumping position.

I shall hopefully be trying some SJing/XC with someone from on here pretty soon.

I was an early 30's returning rider, with an unbacked, opinionated driving horse as a mount, finding the right person/people to teach you I think is one of the most important things for a novice. Horse and I have been very lucky to find them. :)

I just tend to have a lesson when there is a specific problem I could do with help on.
Flatwork trainer is £55 for 45 mins
SJ is £65 for hour.
Both i have to take horse to them so add another £30 in diesel.

I have weekly lessons at £25 a time sometimes I fit 2 in a week. This is on my friends horse as I ride him for her daughter while she is at boarding school & my horse is out of work.

RC lessons are great for experience, socialising and are usually reasonably priced.

I used to have lessons about once or twice a month with a 'Ride With Your Mind' instructor and they cost £32 per lesson. She was great but I've not been able to get hold of her since November to organize more :(

I usually have weekly lessons, but at the moment I'm trying to have them twice a week to get ready for the season.

I pay £35/lesson, which is usually about an hour; sometimes a few minutes under, sometimes a few minutes over. My RI is an eventer who's ridden up to 3*.
