I must admit I haven't had a lesson in over a year and a half, as I was not happy with my previous instructor due to many reasons

I am hoping to get plenty decent ones for the summer though

I have taught myself a good bit though. So, how often do you have lessons?

It is ground permitting I'm afraid as I have no all weather surface! During the warmer months I would have one every fortnight where possible - but my horse is a pig & I am certainly not of the ability to get him working correctly on my own!

weekly. I get bored if I dont have an instrictor to give me focus. I don't see the point in paying for a top instructor personally, they never seem to have the same enthusiasm.

used to be twice a week or atleast once a week. However currently, not having any - last one was August.

But this will hopefully be rectified soon to be once every 3 weeks

Try to have one weekly with a regular instructor (doesnt allways happen though!) And then with someone "better" (more well known) every month or so? ie: i have lessons with Bella Tchicofsci (cant even nearly spell it) who went round Badminton a few years ago. Have dressage lessons and sometimes jumping. She can always help with any problem and can sit on any horse and get a tune out of it! She just knows what buttons to press, and i think is a fab instructor. So i like having an expensive lesson every month or so

Never!!! Learnt to ride at a riding school - had lessons weekly for 9 months, then got our 1st horse. That was in 2000. Since then, i've had 2 lessons

! But i dont do too bad considering! Read a lot of books and mags and watch other people ride.

I finish uni this week

, so am going to get millions of lessons over the summer, but after that, it'll probably be a while before i have any more - depends on what job i end up getting.

I have about one a month for flatwork but I also go to jumping lessons and any other training days that are going on.

I prefer taking April places for lessons and just school myself at home. Also prefer group lessons as they are more fun!

I havent had one for a couple of months, I think it was last year actually Lol. I teach myself a bit though, I know I need lessons to stamp out any bad habits. I love my lessons though Had to stop having them as the ground was shocking over winter so could only hack out really.

When I do have lessons I usually have them 1/2 times a week.

Pretty much every Sat or Sun. I am extremely lucky in that my neighbour is an instructor and teaches me for free as she is a family friend. I help out with her horses and do odd jobs in return so I don't feel as if I am taking advantage too much!
I need regular lessons as I easily get distracted if I am on my own and we end up ambling about not doing very much of any use.

I haven't had one in about 5 months shockingly as my instuctor moved away and haven't found another one I like! (Had her for the past 10 years and she's a miracle worker)
Before that I was having them weekly.

After the summer I'm moving up to work with her so will get training 4-5 times a week! Bit scared as now I need some serious work but can't wait to get stuck in!

I try to have one every other week.

I went for ages without having one and then started up again. So glad I did as we have improved so much as our results show. My instructor is fab, I can honestly say I see an improvement after every lesson.

I try and have one each week, I need it!!! I have missed the last 3 weeks though, instructor was at Badminton 1st week, Cropis was lame the 2nd week and it was raining last week, I don't do chucking it down with rain and riding

I am going to have one this week though

Daughter had one a week for quite a while but as her ability improved we dropoped them off to once a fortnight & eventually it will be when she feels she has a problem that neds some assistance.

Every week. I have a dr instructor & an sj instructor & alternate between the two. Otherwise I run out of ideas when I'm schooling by myself!

Once a week I have a jumping lesson with my YO who is brilliant. Then I have a dressage lesson with YO's Wife in the holidays its great 2 YO's each specialised in different areas

not to detract but how did the horse viewing go?

The owner had to cancel the viewing on Sunday afternoon, but they did have a genuine reason and rung me that morning which was plenty of notice

Have rescheduled a viewing Wednesday evening

Once a week but not necessariy on my horse, normally on the ex-rachorse I'm helping to retrain or one that needs a bit of a brush up as they get a bit slack working in the RS all the time!
