I only have time to ride once a day, maybe two if I keep each one short. Try to ride 5 times a week, depending on health (chronic fatigue) and weather. I'm not a fair weather rider, will go out in virtually any weather, but if the horses are soaking then I can't dry them and ride due to no floors in the shelters at the moment! Also, until recently, I only had one access gate into fields, and that spent a lot of winter under 2 foot of water....
I have two and normally ride both 5-6 times a week. Although have AS's at the moment, and one is out for the Summer, so just one at the moment, and trying to bring down her fitness levels (4y/o) as 5-6 times a week is blowing her brains if I have to leave her longer than a day. Although normally they are both very fit and I cannot leave either of them more than a day without work really.
I normally ride about 6 times a week, in any weather.
But at the moment I am at uni so I probably ride a hand full of times every Christmas and Easter etc
5 times a week but not always easy to fit it in with family and work, but sometimes my kids ride out with me and hubby will walk with the dog. On a bad week i.e weather and time minimum 3 times.
At the moment, I ride my own horse 6 times a week for up to an hour and a half (two hrs + if going on a long hack ), despite having GCSEs Like JoBo I would ride every day if I could but think the poor sod needs a break from me occasionally
Once GCSEs are over and I am on hols, and the polo season has started properly, will be riding every day
I normally don't ride over the summer - although I have a lovely girl working for me who rides my boy approx 5 times a week. I do more when its hunting time (I hunt 2x a week and exercise in the meantime). I am a real fair weather rider normally - that goes for being too cold, too wet and also too hot for me! I am currently riding him every day as he's just started some drugs and I have to monitor him closely - and my butt can testify to this! I have 6 on the yard (rising to 9 shortly) and currently only my boy is big enough for me to ride, so whilst he's being ridden by someone else I'm doing something with the others - i work at the yard all day. When the others come I'll have to get on top more often as they are only here for the summer for reschooling / conditioning and there just won't be enough time if I don't get stuck in myself - although i am more and more coming around to thinking that its a younger woman's game!
I can't wait to get more riding in - but the boy's still young, so we do short gentle spurts 3/4 times a week. I have to remind myself not to overdo it - would be really easy as he is very foreward going, and loves his trips out, specially if the dog's with us ! He actually tries to get the dog to play tag, when I'm sticking to stick to walk and trot...
normally everyday.
got 3 horses- one in full competition that gets worked 6-7days a week
a 4 year old being backed- worked 3 days then day off.
and a 20year old who is recovering from laminitis but will be back in work hacking 2x week (i hope)
In the summer I try to ride 5-6 times a week but currently getting in late from work isn't allowing that so it's about 2-3 times until I'm off the rota. In the winter I probably only manage 2-3 times a week. Summer it's all about trying to keep the weight off him.
