How often do you shoe?

Flo- 9 weeks
Bramble and Teazle- 12 weeks if shod, once/twice a year if barefoot.

My TB used to have really bad hoof quality and struggled to keep shoes on for more than 3-4 weeks. Fortunately things have improved now and we go 6 weeks.

Could probably go to 7-8 weeks in winter but I wouldn't want to push my luck!

Every 8 weeks. If he needed it doing more often I wouldn't hesitate to go down to 5-6 weeks.

With Murph i used to go to 8 weeks which farrier would request as was quite flat footed so liked to get a little more growth on them to work with. But with Oreon i can't go past 6 weeks as he has very good feet which grow rather quickly and he gets risen clenches rather early on (although he usually pulls a shoe at least once within the 6 weeks

).

Bailey used to go 5/6 weeks, recently he has only managed 4 weeks before they fall off/ he hoolies around and rips them off
